Harry Dunn and I are going to discuss that in more depth on tomorrow's episode of cleanup on aisle 45. but apparently the Senate attending physician, which I think is a more trustworthy physician, isn't giving much information, but is saying that, his childhood polio, Mitch M. McConnell's childhood polio is what is severely damaged, playing a major factor in the very slow recovery. Recovery from what? He says it's just a fall, but I'm, you know, we're not sure, so we'll keep an eye on that. also heartbreaking news out of Washington State. A 15 year old boy has been arrested in connection with that mass shooting at the Seattle Center, a food festival. It left three people dead and four others injured. On Sunday evening, all seven people were hit by bullets, including a two year old child who was hurt and taken to the hospital but is in stable condition. One suspect was taken into custody immediately following the shooting, but police say they're still looking for at least one other suspect. Around six hours after the shooting took place, the Seattle Police Department held, a press conference to share details, about the shooting and the victims and the suspects. Seattle Assistant Police Chief Tyrone Davis said at least two suspects appeared to be shooting at each other and he described the detained person as, quote, young. The police department is asking for any witnesses to come forward. On Monday morning, the Youth Peace and Justice foundation announced a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the identification, arrest of any outstanding suspects connected to Sunday's deadly shooting. You can go to gunsensevoter.org to find the Moms Demand Action 2026 gun sense candidates, and see, see what their platforms are. also from the Associated Press, the Trump administration is now asking the Supreme Court on Monday to clear the way for the executive order. His executive order that could dramatically change mail in voting ahead of November's midterm elections. The one that says you have to give me your voter rolls. I got to run them through my stupid, corrupt, mistake riddled system and then I decide who gets mail in ballots in your state. That which has been blocked by multiple district court judges and an appellate court recently. We talked about it yesterday. Now Trump is running to the Supreme Court. Please lift the blocks. Let me do this for in time for the midterm elections. So basically, DOJ is asking the Supreme Court to halt lower court decisions blocking the sweeping changes in nearly half the country, 23 states and D.C. so we're going to keep an eye on that for you. All right, everybody, we have a lot of news to get to. Let's hit the hot notes. Hot notes. First up from CBS, U.S. immigrations and Customs Enforcement abolish ICE has made plans to ramp up operations to arrest and deport Haitian migrants as hundreds of thousands of Haitians braced for the termination of their legal status. And that's according to two agency sources and federal documents obtained by cbs. The plans include arresting migrants in Ohio, where large Haitian communities in cities like Springfield have been targeted by President Trump and conservative politicians like J.D. vance. About the pets thing, eating the cats, eating the dogs, and then admitting that he made it up and then quickly putting them on deportation flights. ICE is going to target them, quickly put them on deportation flights to crisis stricken Haiti. The internal documents say this. During the 2024 presidential campaign, Trump amplified those baseless claims about the Haitians in Springfield eating cats and dogs. These internal plans for potential arrest and deportations have been made as more than 300,000 Haitians prepare to lose deportation protections and work permits under the Temporary Protected Status Program. That's tps. The Supreme Court last month sided with the Trump administration and its efforts to end the TPS program for Haitians and Syrians. That ruling's binding mandate is set to be issued to lower courts on Monday. Since that ruling, fear and uncertainty have swept through Haitian Communities across the U.S. immigrants whose TPS lapses immediately lose their ability to work in the country legally and become eligible to be arrested and processed for deportation by ICE unless they have another status. Those without removal orders are generally entitled to appear before an immigration judge before any deportation can take place. But keep in mind, immigration judges work for Donald Trump, not the judiciary. The operations targeting Haitian migrants could start as early as this week, according to the internal document. But more details about the scale of the plans were not immediately clear. The ICE sources who described the preparations request an anonymity to describe internal plans that have not been publicly disclosed and are fluid. Any uptick in deportations to Haiti would almost certainly raise political and humanitarian challenges given the dire situation in the Caribbean nation, the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. Significant portions of Haiti are controlled by criminal gangs, and the United States has generally limited deportation, into the country's northern parts due to instability and security. In the capital of Port au Prince, the State Department urges Americans not to visit Haiti under any circumstances, citing the rampant violence there. In a statement to CBS News, the Department of Homeland Security, which oversees ice, said, quote, it does not discuss ongoing or future operations. It argued TPS had been used as a de facto amnesty program and suggested that those set to lose their status should self deport. Corlene Joseph, executive director of the Haitian Bridge alliance, that's a nonprofit that helps migrants from Haiti, said the specter of deportation has placed Haitians on edge. Quote, Once again, our community members find themselves in a state of extreme trauma, fear and terror. One of them told me it feels like a tsunami or an earthquake with nonstop aftershocks. Her little girl doesn't even want to go to school for fear of coming home and not finding her mother. So created in 1990 by Congress, TPS allows federal immigration officials to grant temporary work permits and a reprieve from deportation to immigrants from countries facing an armed conflict, environmental disaster, or another emergency. The Trump administration moved to, end the Haiti TPS policy last year, but the decision has been held up in court ever since. In a ruling in February, U.S. district Court Judge Anna Reyes found that the move to end the program was in part rooted in racial animus, citing disparaging remarks that then DHS Secretary Kristi Noem and Donald Trump made about Haiti and immigrants. But in its decision last month, the Supreme Court's majority said federal law barred judges from reviewing TPS determinations and found Trump's comments to not be overtly racial. The Trump administration scaled back large scale immigration roundups after two US Citizens, Renee Goode and Alex Preddy, were killed by federal agents during the Minneapolis massive, deployment. But ICE operations have ramped up this summer amid pressure from the agency to record 2,000 daily arrests. Last month, the number of detainees booked into ICE custody hit a monthly record high for the second Trump administration. During the recent surge in ICE operations, two immigrants from Mexico and Colombia were killed by agents during traffic stops in Texas and Maine. It's ramping up. It's getting worse. They're snatching nuns off the street on their way to church so they can make these quotas. It's horrific. And to be Haitian, to not have a safe country to even go back to and be at risk of deportation after coming here legally under a temporary protected status program. The trauma is, I can't, I can't fathom it. So we're going to keep an eye on this story. But, next up from the times, the former 60 Minutes correspondent Cecilia Vega on Thursday described pressure from executives at CBS News to insert what she said was political bias into three segments that aired this year. Ms. Vega was among three of the show's correspondents to be fired this spring and is now the third to go public with claims of executives interfering in the show's reporting. The former correspondent, Scott Pelley, and Sharon Alfonsi, made similar accusations. Scott Pelley was the one who stood up in that meeting, and Sharon Alfonsi was the one who ran the Seacoat segment that Bari Weiss blocked. Quote, I've gone head to head with editors for 25 years in the business. Ms. Vega said she's 49 on Thursday, according to a recording of an interview she did with John Quinones of ABC News and the national association of Hispanic Journalists conference. She added, quote, but never in my career until now have I felt those edits, that those suggestions came from a place of misinformation or politics. None of the changes Ms. Vegas said executives had requested were incorporated into those shows. 60 Minutes, the country's top rated TV news program, was roiled by reporters accusations and by a shakeup this spring when Bari Weiss, the CBS News editor in chief and a former opinion journalist, oversaw the firing of the show's leadership team and three correspondents. Ms. Weiss then hired a tech journalist and documentary filmmaker with no broadcast experience for its new head. In the interview, Ms. Vega said that in January, she was finishing a segment about ice, and executives asked her to add footage to show protesters attacking citizens that the demonstrators had incorrectly identified as ICE agents. They also asked her to find video of a police chief rolling his eyes during a news conference, but she couldn't find either. For a February segment about poverty In West Virginia, Ms. Vega said she was asked to mention J.D. vance, who had written about poverty in Ohio. She said the piece was not focused on politicians or political voices. And, later in the year, she said executives told her to include a line in another segment saying that Iran was outgunned by the United States and Israel, which she called an administration talking point. A CBS News spokesman, Jeremy Adler, pointed to a statement the network released in May, shortly after Ms. Vega was fired, saying that her allegations of pressure from executives were, quote, not based in reality. He cited the network's recent coverage of the Trump administration. the spokesman also referred to a comment from Ms. Weiss in a recent interview where she said, what's being called editorial interference is in reality the job description of an editor in chief. But Status, a newsletter focused on the media industry, earlier reported on Ms. Vega's remarks. And during the interview, Ms. Vega also described the day she was fired, saying she received an email inviting her to a video conference in one hour. She said she was fired during the meeting that lasted less than two minutes without a thorough explanation. So three times they wanted to insert misinformation and politicking into her stories. All right, next up from a Wall Street Journal Senator Lindsey Graham planned to travel to Florida in early March to persuade Trump to join Israel in the bombing of Hezbollah in Lebanon until a friend talked him out of it. This blows my mind. He wanted to talk Trump into joining Bibi Netanyahu's bombing of Lebanon. The friend, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, told him on a call before the trip that bringing the US into the operation in the midst of the Iran war was going too far, too fast, according to unreleased footage from a documentary about the South Carolina Republican lawmaker that was being filmed before he died earlier this month, Bibi Netanyahu talked Lindsey Graham out of talking Donald Trump into helping Bibi Netanyahu bomb Lebanon Quote we're concentrating right now on Iran, netanyahu said in a March 4 call, according to the footage, which was viewed by the Wall Street Journal. If we tell Hezbollah that we're going all the way, we threaten them. But if we actually do it, they have no reason not to go all the way against us, and right now that's not in our interest. That's actually good counsel, lindsey Graham replied from his Senate office, which was covered with Trump hats, scattered papers and planters, peanuts with a bottle of bourbon on the shelf. The extraordinary exchange was captured by the documentary filmmaker Alex Holder, who had been granted extensive access to Graham since 2023. It provides an unvarnished look at Graham's years long quest to topple the Iranian regime and the ways in which he persuaded Trump to strike, at times pushing for even more aggressive action than Netanyahu was prepared to take. Quote, look what we've done here. I almost cried. That's what he told the crew, laughing loudly after US Strikes in Iran began in February. Look what I've done here. How long have we been pushing for this? He then tells the crew that Trump was equally happy. Quote, I talked to Trump this morning. He's jacked, he said. Best thing I've ever done. He loves blowing stuff up. The footage shows the documentary crew regularly traveling with Graham sitting in the backseat and filming as he takes phone calls from the front seat. Graham let the crew stay in the room for sensitive meetings, and some of the people Graham spoke with by phone told the Journal they didn't know the calls were being recorded. It includes Graham flying to meet with Saudi Arabia's de facto leader, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. That's Bonesaw to sell him on the war in Iran, calling the military commanders about the war, speaking with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, huddling with other world leaders and expressing candid thoughts on a range of American political figures. In the call with Netanyahu, Graham said that it would be time for Israel to normalize relations with Saudi Arabia when the Iranian regime falls and that he had already lined up Republican and Democratic support. Netanyahu encouraged him to focus first on Iran. The Israeli government didn't respond to requests for comment. Holder is now distilling hundreds of hours of raw camera footage for a documentary currently titled Lindsay's Game, which he said he wants to release in the coming months. And Graham agreed to it, saying he wanted people to understand his long tenure in the Senate and hopefully inspire others to work in government. Graham repeatedly told his crew how cool this was. Holder said he would call what this is a game. M. That's what Holder said, describing how Graham told him how bizarre he thought it was that a senator from South Carolina had a closer relationship with Saudi Arabian leaders than anyone in a Democratic or Republican administration. The crew also filmed Graham as he talked in March with Jake Sullivan, who was National Security Advisor under President Joe Biden, about the challenges of working with the Trump administration on Middle east negotiations. Quote, I can't do it with Jared and I can't do it with Witkoff. They're just too conflicted. It's gotta be Rubio, he said to Jake Sullivan, referring to Trump's primary envoys to the negotiations, his son in law, Jared Kushner, and longtime friend and real estate dude Steve Wyckoff, and his Secretary of State, Marco Rubio. A White House official said Graham, Witkoff and Kushner were all close friends. Quote, steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner are excellent dealmakers whose results speak for themselves. The official said Sullivan asked Graham in March how much longer the war in Iran is going to last, and Graham provided a response that proved to be wildly wrong. In three to four weeks, we're going to have them in a spot where they start losing control of some cities, get the Arabs more openly involved tomorrow, and then they have almost irreversible momentum. At one point, Graham describes battling with, quote, a lot of people on the inside who didn't want Trump to venture into war with ir, which has since proven unpopular and has frustrated Trump. At another point, he expresses dismay that Republicans aren't doing enough to back the war. Quote, very few people are selling this war from the administration. I'm shocked, he said to the crew. The footage also shows Graham's occasional frustration with Trump, particularly for signing the preliminary deal with Iran in June. The project's final interview was at a bagel shop in Columbia, South Carolina, in June, weeks before his death. Graham then says even Trump is growing too wobbly on the war. He's letting this thing slip away. Graham said, I gotta go talk to him. Graham sometimes expressed amazement with how much access he had to Trump, telling Holder the president was easier to reach than Holder himself. Graham said Trump was, quote, fun to be around and he liked him, but he understood Trump's limits. For example, Graham said Trump didn't care about abortion. Now Graham relished his role in the center of the action. Quote, we could do a media show every two seconds, he said about the Iran war, asking his press secretary if he'd ever been so in demand. Graham told Holder, who previously filmed a documentary about the January 6th attack on the Capitol, that if the movie turned out great, he could take credit for it. And if it turned out bad, Graham told him, I'll just call you a bunch of communists and raise lots of money. Many of Graham's critics have said he made moral trade offs to gain relevance. They've noted that Graham, who was once close with Democrats and the late Republican Senator John McCain, was fervently anti Trump in 2016, going so far as to call Trump a threat to America. Graham broke with Trump after the mobs of Trump supporters stormed the Capitol, fueled by Trump's false claims of voter fraud. Graham later was dismissive of those attacks, though, Holder said, adding that he was unapologetic about his association with Trump and often laughed at the crowds gathered outside to protest him. Graham previously had said Trump, quote, is the greatest president of all time. Now Holder traveled with Graham for a meeting with Israeli officials and the Mossad, Israel's intelligence agency, as they prepared for the Iran conflict. Holder likened Graham's treatment there to how prime ministers or kings would be treated in the final weeks of Graham's life. Holder said he noticed that Graham frequently looked tired, prompting Holder to ask if he was doing okay. Graham would say he didn't have time to sleep because he needed to finish off the Iranian regime, sort out a peace deal between Russia and Ukraine, and establish ties between Saudi Arabia and Israel by the end of this year. At one point, when Graham looked, quote, absolutely disheveled and exhausted, Holder said the senator complained that others weren't helping him and he would say, there's no way I can die yet. Wow, I look forward to that Holder documentary. Next up from St. Louis American a large group gathered Saturday in the North Point neighborhood near Goodfellow Boulevard and West Florissant Avenue ahead of the Aug. 4 primary election to rally against two statewide ballot measures, Missouri Amendments 4 and 5. Another large group gathered in St. Charles for similar demonstrations during the Good Trouble weekend of action organized by get out the vote. Speaking with Fox 2St. Louis, Ruth Huebner of Abortion Action Missouri said the rallies were intended to help voters understand Measure four and Measure five so that they can make an informed choice and defend the right to equal opportunities across the state. The two constitutional amendments, both referred to voters by the Missouri General assembly, would make significant changes to state law. Amendment 4 would change how citizen led constitutional amendments are Approved and Amendment 5 would begin a process that could eventually eliminate Missouri's individual income tax. Amendment 4 would change the rules for passing citizen led constitutional amendments while also adding provisions dealing with foreign campaign contributions and petition fraud. The proposals come as citizen groups continue using Missouri's initiative petition process to place constitutional amendments before voters. Last year, the nonprofit People Not Politicians Missouri submitted more than 305,000 petition signatures seeking to block Missouri's new congressional map from being used in the 2026 elections. If approved, the future citizen proposed constitutional amendments would have to win both a statewide majority and majority support in each of Missouri's eight congressional districts. Constitutional amendments referred to voters by lawmakers would continue to require only a simple statewide majority. Ah, so if you want to amend the Constitution, the people, you have to. It's going to be a lot harder, but if we, your, Republican minority majority legislature wants to, we can just give it to you. Richard Von Gallon, campaign director for People Not Politicians and Policy and political director for Missouri Jobs with justice, called Amendment 4 an attempt to end majority rule. Quote in trying to create a different standard for citizens than politicians for passing laws, politicians are showing their contempt for the people of Missouri in this brazen power grab. Supporters including the Missouri Farm Bureau and the Missouri Chamber of Commerce, say the proposal would protect rich people. The proposal would protect Missouri's Constitution from well funded out of state interests while requiring petition campaigns to build broader statewide support. Opponents, including Respect Mo Voters and the Missouri association of Realtors, argue that the proposal gives unequal weight to congressional districts and makes it harder for citizens than lawmakers to amend the Missouri Constitution. That's exactly what it does. Amendment 5, known as the Income Tax Elimination and Sales tax changes Amendment would gradually phase out Missouri's individual income tax if state revenue growth meets benchmarks. In the proposal to replace lost revenue, lawmakers could expand or modify sales tax and other revenue sources. Mailers, television commercials and advertisements on black oriented radio stations have promoted the measure with the simple promise pass amendment five and we'll have an extra $3,000 in our pockets. Governor Mike Kehoe a ah conservative groups including Americans for Prosperity Missouri contend that the amendment would make Missouri more competitive, attract new business and residents, and leave more money in workers paychecks. Earlier this year, the St. Louis American quoted state Rep. John Martin, a Republican from Columbia, who called the proposal an historic opportunity. Quote, we have a historic opportunity to help Missourians to have more take home pay and they can choose to spend that. But critics see it differently. Sarah Narkowitz, director of the Low Income Taxpayer Clinic at Washington University, said Missouri would still have to generate enough revenue to pay for schools, health care, transportation, public safety, etc. Minority Leader Ashley Aoune I'm, probably pronouncing that right. Let me know. A, Kansas City Democrat called a proposal the largest sales tax increase in state history and warned it would disproportionately affect seniors, many of whom no longer pay state income taxes on Social Security benefits. Aha. Uh-huh. The Missouri Budget Project disputes campaign claims that most Missourians would come out ahead financially, estimating that between 60 and 80% of residents could see a net tax increase if Missouri relies more heavily on sales tax to replace income tax revenue. Healthcare advocates have also joined the opposition. Dr. Priya Paul, a physician scientist specializing in HIV research, says shifting more of the tax burden to the sales tax could make medical care less affordable. As physicians, we see every day what happens when health care becomes unaffordable. People delay appointments, they skip medications, they postpone screenings and arrive sicker than they otherwise would have. Opponents also argue the proposal would temporarily suspend some protections of Missouri's Hancock amendment by allowing lawmakers to make major changes to the state sales tax structure during the transition away from the income tax without another statewide vote. Supporters respond that the amendment gives lawmakers the flexibility needed to modernize Missouri's tax system while reducing income taxes as state revenues grow. Missouri voters will decide both constitutional amendments in the August 4th primary election. All right, next up from NBC, attorneys for Jim Comey have asked federal judges to dismiss the seashells based prosecution on the former FBI director, arguing that, quote, dictionaries, context, precedent and common sense gut the Trump administration's claim that a photo he posted on Instagram could possibly constitute an actual threat against the President. 42 pages of ink in this motion to dismiss. And there will be more motions, by the way. Now, if the case were to survive these legal challenges, it would go to trial in October. Comey was indicted by a grand jury in the Eastern District of North Carolina in April, and prosecutors argued that the image posted online of seashells in the formation 8647 was a threat against the president. Matthew Petracca, a rookie federal prosecutor and former Republican official who first brought the case, has since moved off the case. Now, Andy McCabe and I are going to dig into this motion on this weekend's episode of the Unjustified podcast, because this one's all about the First Amendment. And from Politico. The U.S. department of justice moved to drop its final charge against a California labor leader who protested immigration enforcement, the latest setback for the Trump administration's efforts to punish people who resist the deportation agenda or just protest it. In a Monday morning filing, the Justice Department moved to dismiss its indictment against seiu. That's the United Service Workers West President David Huerta, who was arrested last summer over a year ago as he participated in a demonstration against ICE in Los Angeles. The government initially charged Huerta with a felony count of conspiring to impede an officer, later downgraded that charge to a misdemeanor. And the DOJ stood by its case, saying in a statement, the government doesn't arrest people for peacefully protesting. And that since his arrest, Huerta, quote, has not engaged in the same obstructive behavior that led to his arrest and criminal charges being filed against him. Meaning it, worked. The agreement to drop the charge requires Huerta to abide by the terms of his prior release on bond. Quote, this is not where he's been absolved of wrongdoing. That's U.S. attorney Bill Asale speaking to Politico. Quote, he's accepted responsibility. But Huerta and his allies declared victory, with Huerta arguing the outcome vindicated his long standing argument that the case was meant to punish and silence me for exercising my constitutional rights. Quote, this means the government's finally admitting what we knew from day one and what was obvious to anyone who saw the videos. The charge against me was baseless, meant to intimidate anyone who dares speak out, organize or demand justice. That's what Huerta said in a statement. His arrest followed shortly by federal agents throwing Senator Alex Padilla to the ground when he sought to question Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, crystallized outrage in California against the Trump administration's aggressive immigration enforcement tactics. Prominent Democrats and labor leaders rallied to Huerta's defense a year later. Huert the conclusion of the government's case against Huerta now underscores a new reality in which the Justice Department has often failed to secure indictments and convictions against people accused of obstructing immigration enforcement or assaulting ICE agents, including in Los Angeles. If you want to hear a really good breakdown of it, Andy McCabe and I did just a couple days ago on the Unjustified podcast with numbers and receipts, quote, this case revealed that the Department of Justice was willing to charge a labor leader with a crime, hold it over him for months, and then walk away from it once the charge couldn't survive scrutiny. That is not how a justice system is supposed to work. That's Abby Lowell, Huerta's attorney, and Marilyn Bednarski said in a joint statement, Both his attorneys all right everybody, that's the news. I get to see you in person again for the first time since we did the book talk on C Span back in New York for when Blowback came out. And I'm excited to see you this Wednesday because. Tell us what you're going to announce. It's one of these. I mean, first of all, Talk about what defiance.org is briefly and that, you know, these actions culminate in things that are happening. And that's something that you're announcing this Wednesday. Talk about it.
Yeah. Well, look, we launched as a nonprofit club for the courageous, and we like to think of ourselves as the rapid reaction force to Trump's corruption. And as part of that, we will be announcing this Wednesday that through the midterm elections, we are going to put all 3.5 million Epstein files on the road across America in what we call the Trump Epstein Bookmobile. If you want to get a sense of what I'm talking about, you can get a teaser@trumpepsteinbookmobile.com. but we teamed up with a group that, did a pop up museum of the Epstein files in New York City. And we said, look, survivors of Jeffrey Epstein and Donald Trump said, this is one of the most impactful things that had been done since this controversy came into the public domain to actually print the files, allow the public to go see the corruption. We said, well, why just have it be in New York? Let's put this on the road. Let's take this across the country and make sure that Americans can see the breadth of and depth of the corruption of both Jeffrey Epstein and his relationship with Donald Trump. And so we've done that. We went and bought a truck, we went and wrapped it, prepared it, we're making it into a mobile museum. We are going to unveil it in a press conference live on Capitol Hill on Wednesday with about a dozen Epstein survivors and members of Congress and national figures to say, we are not going to let up on this. That also happens to be the likely day or day before Todd, Blanche's nomination to be US Attorney General is considered by committee and by the Senate. And so we're going to have survivors out there in front of the Capitol basically saying to Todd Blanche and to those senators, no matter what happens this week, we're not going to let you forget. And they still need to release the rest of the files. so we'll unveil the truck that day with those survivors and we'll send it off on the road around the country. So we're really excited about that. These are the types of things that are enabled by members of defiance.org they, they funded it and are getting it out into the world. But also, Alison, we're planning on giving people the ability to say, hey, bring it to my area. We want to do a public event and we want people to be able to tour the files and the mobile museum.
Yeah. And these reading rooms were so impactful. The one in New York, the one in downtown D.C. to see the, just the quantity, of the files, knowing that we only have about half of them, you know, because they've been blocked so much by Todd Blanche. And I'm so glad you're doing this before the confirmation vote for, to bring the attention to folks like Cornyn and Tillis who have kind of wavered a little bit on Their vote. I know Tillis demanded a meeting with survivors and Todd Blanche. I spoke to a survivor who was at that meeting, Annie Farmer, and she said it was condescending lip service. nothing was done. There were no commitments made. it was just, it was a terrible, it didn't go well, for Todd Blanche. but you know, considering that a couple other things that are happening right now that aren't going to come out until after the vote, like, the New York Times subpoena, the judge in that case asked for internal communications about those subpoenas and non disclosure orders to come out yesterday, Monday, and the DOJ asked for more time into the week of August 6th and they were granted that. So now that's not going to come out until after Todd Blanche's confirmation hearing. We have Katie Fang's lawsuit demanding now, the judge there, Emmett Sullivan, who wondered why the Mueller investigation team didn't look into treason, is now asking for Todd Blanche to turn in a handful of documents in a separate motion from the Epstein files to him in camera so he can review them to make sure Todd Blanche is telling the truth about why those should be lawful redactions. It reminds me of the Bill Barr, Mueller report redactions where Judge, Reggie Walton asked to see those in camera and determined that they were inappropriate and lacked candor and that Bill Barr was trying to cover up the breadth and depth of the Russian election interference in 2016. But that's not coming until, not due until Thursday. And likely that vote will be out of committee by then, maybe before the larger Senate vote. But that is why I'm so glad that defiance.org is doing this ahead of the vote. because I really hope that Thom Tillis and Cornyn and even others on that committee will be watching that day. We've lost a vote, as you know, on the Senate Judiciary Committee with the death of Lindsey Graham. And so one Republican defection could tank this nomination being advanced. And so that's why I think this is so important on top of the idea that you're bringing this impactful view of the Epstein files to, to the public wherever, you know, in a bookmobile. I think it's incredible.
Well, first, on the survivor front, we're hoping that that final day of pressure has a very real impact. Right. This is not a stunt. These folks have been central in gaining the attention of US Senators on probably the premier reason not to confirm Todd Blanche as United States Attorney General, that is his efforts to participate in and advance the COVID up of the Epstein Files on behalf of the President. You spoke to Annie? I think she'll be there at the press conference. Among others, the survivors did not feel like this conversation with Todd Blanche assuaged their concerns. If anything, most of them came away from that. I think all of them came away from that feeling even more convicted that he should not be the U.S. attorney General. So we're hoping that gathering them there on Wednesday morning and giving them a chance to go back to the Capitol one last time to go meet with these senators, will be that opportunity, to, you know, give them those insights, before they go take that crucial vote. But regardless of how that vote turns out, we think it's crucial to advance justice for survivors by keeping a focus on the files. And look, politically, nothing has done graver damage to Donald Trump with independence and with people in his own movement than the fact that he has betrayed them on this issue, that he swore up and down he'd released the files, he'd be the most transparent administration in American history. And now, of course, there has been one of the most sweeping and ham fisted cover ups we've ever seen in American history around these files. We cannot let the people forget that in the lead up to the midterm elections. And I'm not going to lie, Alison, this was a, ah, this was a slog to get this done. It turns out to be a lot harder than you'd expect to build a mobile museum with 3.5 million files. Some have to be digital. you know, many of them are going to be printed along those shelves and just logistically to get it around the country. But I'll tell you what tipped us over the edge was just going to that mobile pop up in New York City, seeing all of the Epstein survivors there, hearing the conversations people were having, seen people cry as they walked along the stacks, and realizing this makes it real for people. It makes it real. It makes an act, a, cover up. It makes the corruption tangible. And it's very, very important for people to have that experience. And so, we've invested about $100,000 to get that thing prepared and ready for the road. And like I said, our friends at the Institute for Primary are going to be out there managing, getting this thing to as many cities as humanly possible between now, the midterms and then beyond that to keep the focus on this. And look, our demand is going to be very simple. Out there on the road, we're going to have survivors at every stop saying, release the files. Release the files. Release the Damn files. The fact is, you don't Alison that half of them are still being held. and perhaps we'll see some developments on that front with Katie Fang's lawsuit and others. But, you know, whether or not Todd Blanche gets confirmed as Attorney General, we're not going to let up on the pressure.
Right. And Katie Fang is actually suing for all the files. but then she filed a separate motion on a couple things she knew existed in the files. And that is what Todd Blanche refused to hand over and what, Judge Emmett Sullivan is now requiring him to hand over unredacted in camera. I'm not sure when we'll hear about that. It could take a week after he gets them. They're due on Thursday. talk a little bit about, this event. I'm going to be there on Wednesday morning on Capitol Hill with, members of Congress, senators and survivors. How can other people participate and watch this press conference? Because it's going to be, I think, extremely impactful.

Then we will unveil the truck. But importantly, we're also going to reveal the cities and the dates. This is where people can have a very big, very real impact. Get those cities and dates, send them to people, you know, in those regions, Go there yourself, plan a visit. We're going to make it very, very easy to share that out on social media. There's no cost to go see this thing. That's why we're funding this is we want as many Americans as possible to go have this experience. There'll be, there will be some interactive parts of the exhibit that won't be available on Wednesday because it's just a press conference. We're not going to have it open to the public on Wednesday. but once it starts hitting these cities, folks will be able to go and be a part of the interactive exhibit, share the stories of survivors and help counter the corruption. That is a very important thing people can do. And look, I will say, if even crassly, you're not in it for justice, you're not in it for real answers, even if, crassley, you're just watching this and saying, yeah, but I know this is the thing that sticks it to Donald Trump. Well then for that reason do it too. Because we know that the reason his approval numbers are hovering in the low 30% catastrophic territory for a president is because he has lost millions of his own supporters. And public opinion surveys and the cross tabs on those surveys will show this has been one of the most potent reasons why is his own, own backers. Three time Trump voters are seeing the corruption finally for themselves. And I think this issue has exemplified that more than any other. And we do not want people to forget.
Yeah. and these are the kinds of things that defiance.org is funding and paying for and, and, and making happen and Right. Yeah. when folks are able to access the Trump Epstein bookmobile site, we're gonna have a massive nationwide petition to release the rest of the files. And this is going to be the big push. This will be the big national push with survivors and advocates to get us over that finish line. I wouldn't even call it a finish line. It's to get us over the starting line.
Right.
To fully investigate, the extent of their corruption here. And whether it's a federal judge that orders the final release, whether it's Congress and some of these senators that will speak be speaking at that press conference that you can watch Wednesday morning at 8am Eastern. Some of them will be talking about legislation that they are sponsoring to make that happen again. Whether it's the judges or Congress, we have to get the rest of those released because that's going to be the starting point to make sure in this country we continue the investigation. I want to just say something from a personal standpoint for anyone out there who Says, you know, all, you know, a lot of the files are out there. Is there anything really still for the US Government to investigate? I get that it was corrupt that Trump covered this up, but are there still things to investigate? Let me tell you two things. One, foreign governments across the world are continuing these investigations. If you needed any evidence, the Brits, the French, they have opened investigations into people who were culpable in the Epstein trafficking network. Okay. The U.S. department of justice, for that reason alone, should have investigations still open to assist those foreign partners. But I'm going to go further and just speak to.
And there's no statute of limitations on sex trafficking minors.
That's right. And I'll speak to, you know, the foreign intelligence implications here in the job that I used to be in. The fact that Jeffrey Epstein cavorted with so many national leaders and world leaders and business leaders and is alleged to have been a foreign intelligence asset, that, in and of itself, all the trafficking aside, is reason enough for the federal government to keep that investigation open. And to ask the question, was Jeffrey Epstein responsible for compromising US Trade secrets, commercial secrets, national security information? We've never gotten an answer on that. So even if there was nothing related to sex trafficking, which there is, there's a mountain of evidence there. I can speak alone to the national security implications. The Justice Department must continue investigating. We don't have answers there. And that's all of those things are going to be what we're pushing, in this nationwide cross country tour with the files.

I went through hell at the beginning of the year with my salary being cut over 75%. Fuck large healthcare systems. The accounting department of the hospital system that owns our practice is completely FUBAR and created this artificial deficit, forcing us to cut the physician salaries in our clinic. We were making less than fellows in training after the cut, which is a slap in the face for all the work we do, residents and fellows should be paid more too. But that's another conversation. That's what Joel says. We have been saying more patients. We've been seeing more patients. Sorry. And making markedly less money. We had to make some tough personal choices, including decreasing charitable contributions, canceling summer camps, canceling extracurricular activities for our kids, decreasing services for our youngest with special needs, and canceling our Patreon subscription to the Daily Beans. It was infuriating. All while the hospital administration took zero accountability. But it turns out we were correct in our concerns about underpayments from 2025, with one of our major insurers underpaying claims for over 18 months more than overcoming this artificial deficit that the hospital administration created. Evidently, the hospital system administration had known about these underpayments since mid-2025 from our complaints and other clients complaints, although they never acknowledged that to the physicians, but forced us through these draconian cuts anyways. Of course the administration never apologizes to us at all. The healthcare system in the US is such a disaster. Long story short, our salaries were increased, although not to what they were before the incident. What? You should have been paid back in full and had your salaries brought back up to what they were before the incident since those underpayments more than covered the deficit Anyway. But you're keeping it all together for me and I think many more like me. So thank you. My pod pet tax is a picture of our newest family member, Duke, whom, we adopted from a shelter last month. We visited a shelter to see if a dog our friends saw was a match for our other dog. But unfortunately, that dog was not a good match for our elder dog, Daisy. And the shelter asked if they could bring out another for us to meet. And it was a love at first sight for all of us. And we now have another blank. And after about a year of waiting, we finally adopted somebody. So attached is a photograph of Starla Cashmere Snickerdoodle. When we got her, she was allegedly one year old. Now she's already had a litter of six. She was small. She's still small, but with a little TLC and too much food, she's grown a bit. My son has been watching frightening YouTube channels where he sneaks onto my account. Siren Head and the boop. Whatever the heck that is. Last night he told me that he's afraid of he's going to have bad dreams when he goes to bed because of one of the monsters. So I asked him which monster and he said he couldn't tell me because thinking about it would make him more scared. So I laughed and I gave him a hug because that was an excellent explanation.
