Joe digenova submitted his resignation to Attorney General Todd Blanche amid what sources described as growing frustrations from Trump and senior DOJ officials regarding his work on the so called grand conspiracy investigation based out of the U.S. attorney's office in the Southern District of Florida right there in Judge Eileen Cannon's courtroom. Andy McCabe and I are going to cover this in depth on this Sunday's episode of Unjustified. Can't imagine why Joe diGenova, the, lawyer for fraud guarantee, wasn't able to get blood out of a stone. That's so weird. All right, next up from the Times. As I said, Jimmy Kimmel told Wednesday night's live audience that his Thursday interview with James Talarico, Democratic Senate nominee from Texas, will not air on television, but would instead be posted on YouTube. As we know, a similar scenario played out this past February when Stephen Colbert said he had been told by CBS's lawyers not to have Talarico on the broadcast of the late show. The show ran the appearance on its YouTube channel instead, garnering millions more views than it probably would have received if it aired normally, and in that night raised $2.5 million for Talarico. So we'll see what happens this time. And from the Associated Press. President Trump pledged Wednesday to send Every American adult $5,000 if Republicans somehow retain control of the House and the Senate in the midterm elections. This is an extraordinary gambit. I would call it an illegal bribe to reverse his party's sagging fortunes in November. The dubious promise, again, I would call it an illegal bribe, would most likely cost more than $1 trillion. I did the math. It's 1.35 trillion. That's quite a bit different. And it would require congressional approval. and it would further exacerbate the country's nearly $1.8 trillion annual budget deficit and concerns about inflation. John Fugelsang and I are going to discuss this as well later in the show. And next up from Politico, a new political action committee chaired by Illinois Governor J.B. pritzker plans to invest $20 million aimed at boosting Democratic House candidates for the midterm elections, while also expanding his national political footprint ahead of a potential 2028 presidential run. It's called the Ready for the Fight PAC, evoking a phrase that Pritzker uses to close his political speeches. And it's going to focus on what the governor says are overlooked races and as well as a few competitive contests, according to Pritzker's team. All right, everybody, we have a lot of news to get to. It's time for the hot notes. Hot, notes all next up from Politico. The fight is over in Missouri for now for this election cycle. The map, the congressional map, bullshit, back and forth, tons of ink spilled, tons of money spent. The fight is over and we won. The Supreme Court, first of all, handed Democrats a victory on Thursday in Missouri's gerrymandering battle, blocking the Republican push to use a map likely to give Republicans another House seat. Acting without any noted dissent, the high court granted an emergency appeal by restricting the opponents who recently persuaded the Missouri Supreme Court to mandate the use of existing district lines for the November election. U.S. district Judge Stephen Clark, a Trump appointee, essentially overrode the Missouri Supreme Court earlier this week, illegally ordering officials to use those new maps in the general election. The Supreme Court blocked Clark's order on Thursday, appearing to signal that the federal court should stay out of the dispute. The justice's ruling came just minutes before the Missouri Supreme Court convened a hearing on whether to hold Missouri Secretary of State Denny Hoskins in contempt civil contempt, not criminal contempt, for defying its order to use the existing lines this fall. Several members of Missouri's highest court expressed irritation with Hoskins during the 35 minute hearing, and the lawyer representing him seemed to exacerbate that problem by refusing to firmly commit to using the old map. In the wake of the US Supreme Court's ruling and from the Associated Press to continue on to this, Hoskins later released a statement acknowledging the U.S. supreme Court decision saying, my office is directing local election authorities to use the 2022 congressional map. Then the court reconvened. So it seems like he tried to cure his contempt. During the recess, the court reconvened and found him in contempt for violating its order not to use the Trump backed map, but quickly declared that he had purged the contempt. He corrected the problem with that latest order to use the 2022. So the court imposed no consequences on Hoskins. And that's normal. Contempt is not punitive. It cannot be punitive. Criminal contempt is punitive. Civil contempt is not. Civil contempt is there to make someone do what you want them to do. And that happened. The contempt was cured. So there's no fines or nothing, you know, nothing like that. Along those lines. So we win. And with that, as I said, the fight is over in Missouri and we're going to use the less shitty gerrymandered map from 2022, which included that second Democratic district. There should be three at least Democratic districts in Missouri if you go by proportional voting in that state. which is why we have to add supreme court seats in 2029 so we can ban gerrymandering or at least make it proportional. Next up from the Associated Press. An appeals court on Thursday upheld a block on Trump's executive order limiting mail in voting. This is a decision that comes as the Supreme Court considers the same case and states have already started sending out ballots for midterm elections. This three judge panel refused to lift a preliminary injunction against the order last week issued by Judge Indira Talwani. It prohibits the U.S. postal Service from implementing Trump's directive. This is a little misleading. It actually prevents the Postal Service from implementing Trump's directive as mandatory. The Postal Service has said it would not deliver ballots from states that did not pre clear their envelope design with the federal government and submit a list of voters to an online portal, which has yet to be even activated. The panel's decision comes even as the Supreme Court is already considering the same case, which is part of a frenzied legal rush as states are now beginning to send out their ballots for the midterm elections. Democrats and civil rights groups in separate lawsuits like one in D.C. for example, are also trying to halt the executive order. Now, the Supreme Court as of Thursday morning was fully briefed on the matter and could deliver a ruling at any time. And let me just go check the docket to make sure it hasn't happened as we sit here. Nope, nope, Nothing yet. all right, next up from Le Monde. In France, a French investigation into alleged human trafficking that allowed US Sex offender Jeffrey Epstein to commit abuses is following several new leads on potential recruiters, according to a prosecutor. Paris prosecutor Loret Bocot spoke after French modeling scout Daniel Said, who is accused by the way of helping Epstein to traffic women, was found dead in his home in July before he could even be questioned. We've obtained other names of potential recruiters, she told France Inter Radio. She goes on to say for us, the Epstein network is a labyrinthine network. To get out of it, there is not just a single thread you have to pull on. It's it's dozens and dozens of threats. This case has so far led them to New York and towards Saint Tropez toward Cannes, she added. Now, France opened a human trafficking investigation after the US Justice Department in January released its latest cache of files from the investigation into the disgraced financier. I don't like it when they call him that. Who died in prison in 2019 while facing charges of trafficking underage girls for sex. There you go, disgraced sex trafficker. Now Bucquot said 26 victims have been identified, including eight who still need to be questioned, as some live abroad. So they're not all in France, she said. Of these 26 victims, 13 have not previously appeared. In any case, the French authorities have already looked into other French figures in the modeling industry. Magistrates previously dropped an investigation into sexual assault and rape claims against Gerald Marie, the former European head of the elite modeling agency who's now in his mid-70s. And as the alleged abuse was beyond the statute of limitations. That didn't mean it didn't happen. Just happened too long ago. Several women have urged new investigations targeting him since the release of the latest Epstein files. Marie last month denied any wrongdoing, saying in an interview the RTL broadcaster. I have never raped anyone. I've always behaved consistently and properly with women. I love women. I can't see myself forcing one. He said, he said he only met Epstein once. I'm wondering if this is the person that's redacted in One of the 10 documents Katie Fang is trying to get at. French police in 2020 also arrested Jean Luc Brunel after allegations he procured women for the US Billionaire. And that guy was also found dead in prison. That was in 2022. All right, next up from the Federal News Network, this is awful. The military is searching protected medical records to find transgender troops who have tried to continue serving amid the Trump administration's ban on trans Americans in uniform. And it's according to mult sources who spoke with the Federal News Network, commanders around the world have started receiving notices that members of their units are violating Pentagon policy and are being instructed to begin the separation process. The sweep is believed to have outed several hundred active duty and reserve troops, including service Academy and Reserve Officer Training Corps cadets over the past two months. And that's according to the trans advocacy nonprofit called Sparta Pride. And Priya Rashid, an attorney with the National Institute of Military Justice. The Pentagon is moving to separate troops as multiple lawsuits challenging the ban move through the federal court system. In August, the administration petitioned the Supreme Court to weigh in on whether the policy was unconstitutional before a key case goes to trial in January. This situation has spurred a, military wide scramble to cover the work of troops placed on leave, connect them with legal help, and in some cases, find money for lodging for those facing homelessness. Quote, the military was my life. It was my everything. I gave my entire self to m my job and to my country. And I was serious about my career. That's what one sailor said. They're about to completely upend my life and my career. I'm not prepared for that now. Sparta officials say dozens of people have reached out to report unprecedented use of military medical systems to identify individuals. Five sources, including two transgender service members facing separation after their gender dysphoria related diagnoses were flagged to their commands described what they called a witch hunt for honorably serving troops. Three were granted anonymity because they fear retaliation. Documents obtained by the Federal News Network indicate that in some Cases. The information is coming from the Pentagon's highest echelon. Sources believe the military is digging through MHS Genesis. That's Medical Health Systems Genesis. It's their electronic health system and health records. And also digging through other databases to find remaining transgender troops. The system contains medical histories, prescriptions, mental health notes. It's your electronic health record, and they're digging through them. Includes tricare, covered civilian care documentation, and even records from before members joined the military. Personnel databases can also reveal changes in a person's listed gender over time. Health privacy laws are more complicated inside the military. To ensure enough troops are fit for duty at any given moment, HIPAA allows, military treatment facilities to disclose protected health information to a service member's command. But the military health system says that the information remains protected under the Privacy act of 1974, which generally bars disclosure without written consent except in certain circumstances. Those exceptions include cases where an agency's employees have a need for the record in the performance of their duties, according to the statute. So that is the news, everyone. You know what? They finally, they finally like socialist government handouts. They just put the word dividend on the box. You see how they do that?

They can't point to anything they've done in the last two years to make your lives better. So what can we do? We can horrify people about communism and socialism and then Donald Trump shows up on night one of this misbegotten fest and completely blows up the whole argument by saying, if you elect me, quid pro quo, Dr. Elector, $5,000 for you. And I'm sure, you've done the math by now, but, it turns out it's 1.35 trillion. 1.35 trillion, which I think we've just got lying around. So this is, this is socialism for everybody to go with the transgender for everybody.
Well, the tariffs did so well, that we're still somehow $40 trillion in debt with a $2 trillion deficit.
but now we need 1.32 trillion more to borrow from the American people to pay the American people so they can pay it back. It's quite a day on Venmo for these folks, is what I'm trying to say. It's almost like a, a guy who bankrupted a casino is designing our fiscal policy. Yeah.
And if you have 1.35 trillion to spend, why not save Social Security and give everybody health care and, oh, there's hope because those things make money.
well, but this is the please keep Republicans in Congress dividend. That's what this is all about, you see.
Right. And you notice that it's a pretty sure bet because in order to have to pay that out, which he wouldn't anyway, the Republicans would have to retain both the Senate and the House. And he knows that's not going to happen. He's just trying to get a few more votes there so he can maybe try to hold on to the Senate and still try to push the SAVE Act.
He's also want to be seen as doing something to help Republicans because as we know, he's sitting on $400 million himself of PAC money.
He ain't going to run again. Right. So he's not sharing any of this PAC money with these other candidates. I think the Democrats have said we're not going to impeach him so many times that Trump has finally believed it. And he doesn't really care if they, keep the House or Senate anymore.
Yeah. That's why when they're like, you know, the, the Republican Committee has raised so much more money than the DSCC or dccc, I'm like, it doesn't bother me. He's not spending a dime of it. So that's totally fine. If they want to brag about how much money they phrased, I'm gonna give
all of you $5,000 I haven't collected yet from a tax that I am not legally able to impose. I mean, that, that's it. Right. He's saying the tariffs will pay. Alexa, send 245 million people five grand each, please. Like, Congress would still have to authorize this you know he's gonna reduce the deficit by giving away a trillion dollars. It's just. It's just like. Alexa, stop. Now, my Alexa got in on the. Again. Communists, Bolsheviks, Marxist, have five grand.
Oh, no, I. But it's a dividend. That's very different. That's really different. That's a capitalist.
Karl Marx had Das Capital, and Trump has direct dividend deposit. I'm trying to figure out these terms now.
Correct. Some really great breaking news. The Missouri State Supreme Court has found that the Hoskins guy was in contempt by. When he told local, election officials to use the new gerrymandered Republican map. And so they threatened him with contempt. And during the recess, he purged his contempt by telling everyone they have to use the 2022 map, which, by the way, is gerrymandered to hell, but is better than the newer map, purged his contempt. And so when he came back into court, Missouri Supreme Court found him in contempt, but said, you have purged your contempt. It's been cured, but you were in contempt. And so now that is over. It's over. The Supreme Court, the Supreme Court of the United States, said no twice. Kavanaugh, put his beer down, maybe, hung up with Tobin and Quee. Or Squee, excuse me. And, decided, to do the act, to actually do the right thing. I mean, and no reasons given, no public dissents on that, but it's over. Now Missouri has to use the older map with two Democratic seats for the midterm elections.
So what you're saying is they failed at getting rid of another majority black voting district. This is all about Kansas City. This is all about them trying to do what that Tennessee made look so easy. But at the same time, though, I guess what we're looking here is these people voted one set of districts for a primary and then a totally different map for the general. I don't know if that's ever happened before.
I don't think so either. But what that federal judge in, the Eastern District, I think, of Missouri was trying to say when he stopped the, old map from being used and said, you have to use the new map, is he made up some sort of thing where the 14th amendment says that we have to use the same map. Map that we used in the primary in the general election, which is completely made up. And even this Supreme Court was like, bra. No, that's. That's not how it works.
I mean, it's. Are these midterms going to be a referendum on Trump or. Or do you think people are just thinking about their own congressional candidates? I think it's going to be a referendum on all of this. And, and whenever Trump comes out and says, think about me when you vote, I'm, I'm like, yeah, please folks.
Right? But, well, it's going to turn into, I wasn't on the ballot. And that's why that's gonna, it's gonna turn.
He's designing it so he can win either way. Right. He can, you know, he can say, well, they would, they would have done better if I was on the ballot. But, but all of this is a lot of, a lot of prick waving designed to hide the fact that he's sitting on 400 million in a pack and he doesn't want to share it with any of these Republicans. And they all know it. And they are now going around at this sad little fair there. I mean this is sadder than the, than the fourth of July fair of despair on the National Mall. This, this, this convention they're having in Dallas and like, like begging people to take free blocks of tickets while charging Republicans 25 grand if they want to speak there and get the airtime.
Now it reminds me of when I was a, like a baby comedian and they made you stand out on the corner and bark for free tickets in order to get three minutes on a Sunday at one in the afternoon. You know, that's it, that's it.
He's, you have to bring people for the stage time and he's making them. It's no different than making your comedian, you know, pay to get, buy the tickets. Yeah. I mean, 25 grand to get a 10 minute speech. And they're so brilliant, Dr. Gill, they program this against fall football because these are smart people running our country.

And in the midst of all of this, yeah, again, they're rejecting this map. I mean, which is really great to see it happen in one state, how it fails. But it's all just designed to help Republicans gain another House seat. It's all just cheating right out in the open.
Think about how much inquisition spilled and time was spent and money was spent to save this one seat. This is how it's going to be from now until we add seats to the Supreme Court in 2029 and stop gerrymandering altogether.
But I mean, what should we make of the fact that this court has, with the dirty six concluded, has now declined twice to intervene in favor of maps?
Donald Trump likes, but we don't know why. We don't know if it's the Purcell Principle. We don't know if the merits were jacked. We don't know. I mean, those two things are true, but we don't know which particular thing they came down on. Kavanaugh and the Dirty Six. We don't know if they were like, ah, yeah, Purcell principle. Which by the way, for folks who might not know, Purcell principle is where the courts don't change stuff right before an election. Because that's just an old doctrine.

But, they did it, with Texas and so, you know, so it's. They've kind of waffled back and forth on that. So I'm not sure what the actual argument was.
Well, it's almost like they only lean on policy when it serves them and then disregard it when they don't feel like it.
Wow. Yeah, I know. So that's why I'm wondering what their reason was here. They didn't give one and there were no public dissents. But something else I wanted to talk about, you know, because Trump is down there speaking every night because it's his thing, he likes to do that. It's why he's not going to 911 at ground zero. It's why he's going to the Pentagon instead, because they wouldn't let him speak because no one's allowed to speak at the ceremony in Manhattan. And I think what Mamdani did. Because Rudy Giuliani is trying to get petition signatures to keep him from showing up.
Yes.
And bragging about the fact that he's got 100,000 signatures, which is.01% of the population of Manhattan.
Yeah. How many of those signatures are from Manhattan, by the way? A lot of these anti Mamdani things are people who don't live in our city. And we know the Republicans always hated New York until they pretended to care about it around 911 time. And now they're back to their old way ways.
But Mom, Donnie did this incredible thing where he released 170,000 plus pages proving that the city knew that the air was dangerous and terrible to breathe, but misled, lied to New Yorkers, saying the opposite. And that those documents are going to help so many people and so many new laws get the care that they need, the care that they deserved for the last 25 years, but were blocked by Republicans from receiving time and time again. So that, I think was one of the most amazing, important and thoughtful and incredible things that he could have done for 911 was to release those documents.
It's also, those Documents being released will go a long way towards correcting the record of what kind of Mayor Giuliani was. If y' all are tired of this mythologizing of this guy, you know, it's like a movie where. Where he's a bad guy, and then for the last five minutes, he becomes good and then goes back to. To being bad again. And this guy has dined out on the deaths of 3,000 people for 25 years. Giuliani has pretty much had a law career that consisted of him being this, death ghoul where he would sell access with himself to assorted foreign scumbags who wanted a picture with Mayor911. Giuliani, you know, for the. For the first year or two after the towers came down. The worst part for me about going down there, because, I'm from downtown Manhattan, the worst part going down there was seeing these guys that were selling, like, 911 merch. Like, for the first year, first week, they were selling T shirts that said, I can't believe I got out. Like, they just printed them up right away. And then for the next year and a half, two years, they were selling, like, photographs down there, you, know, or buttons, pictures. And it was so vulgar. To me, you're profiting off this tragedy. And then I look at Giuliani and see a man who has done that for 25 years and called it the third chapter of his career. So, yes, the suffering need this, and we need the transparency. And Christy Todd Whitman has carried the guilt for far too long just on her own for the government, telling people that the air was safe. I think people really deserve to know that. Giuliani was no different than Trump. He cared about himself and his image a lot more than he cared about people. I don't take away any of the good things he did. He provided leadership to a city that needed leadership. But if you're as sick of the Giuliani myth as I am, I applaud Mayor Mamdani, and I'm just so sick of the same blind hatred by religious conservatives that caused 9 11. We are seeing now where the blind hatred of religious conservatives continues to smear all Muslims. Our mayor was, what, nine years old when this happened? This is no different than saying, I learned everything I need to know about Christianity from the Holocaust. Holocaust. Did you know those camps? All Christians. Christians did the Holocaust. It sounds ridiculous for me to say this, but this is literally the argument that they're using in this century to discriminate against Muslims. And many of the victims of that day were Muslims too.
Yeah, that's very true. and then egregious lie about going to. Bringing people down to Ground Zero to help the first responders. And the U.S. steel building teetering on the brink and being carried out by two big firemen.
A building that's still standing, by the way.
So egregious that Fred Trump iii, who never speaks out, took to Twitter and said, this is an absolute lie. Here's why I can't be silent about this. This is just. This is disgusting.
It's disgusting and yet it's completely predictable. Dr. Gill, let me ask you, what has been your response as a veteran seeing Donald Trump putting up AI cartoons of himself wearing a uniform he never wore and medals he never earned? We talk a bit about stolen valor. We don't hear it a lot from the right wing guys when Donald Trump is doing this. Stolen Valor is one of his favorites. He loves to take credit for shit he's never done. And this is exactly the same. I mean, he has to put himself at the center of the events that day. This was a ceremony he was speaking at honoring the people who actually died and served and cared for each other. And he tells this lie about these firemen carrying him. And of course, there's been so many lies. I mean, Today is the 25 year anniversary of Donald Trump's first lies about 9 11. And it's always him being the. Being the witness, right? Him being at the center of the story. So he told the lie that he saw bodies falling from his window at Trump Tower, which is miles away. He told the lie that now he had the biggest building in downtown Manhattan. He told the lie that he saw thousands of Muslims dancing in the streets of Jersey City. Even though we got a lot of TV crews around here, no one saw this, no photos of it but him. He told the lie that he brought 100 men down there to dig through the rubble. And our own Fire department Deputy Chief Richard Alles said, no, not true. He wasn't there. Like, he wasn't at Ground zero. He never helped anyone, never crawled through the rubble. And now it's like the mythology doesn't stop. These deliberate lies never stop. He never brought anyone down there. And this is what makes New Yorkers crazy. And it's like the math is weird. The further we get away from 911 itself, the closer to the center of the action Donald Trump has to place himself in every year. It's like a Broadway musical that comes back for a revival, except it becomes more elaborate and one character gets A much bigger part every year when they bring this show back. I mean, if Barack Obama had told any of these lies, he would have been out. If Joe Biden had told a lie and they said, oh, he misremembered. He thought he was down there and firemen carried it out. I mean, again, this is back to the lie he used against American Muslims. And the media, to me, are the real bad guys, because the New York Times is still saying things like, demonstrable falsehood or prevarication or whopper. They can't stop saying, this guy won't stop fucking lying about the worst day in our. He lied that he said it in a, in a GOP debate in 2015 in South Carolina. I lost hundreds of friends that day. He only said it once, but he said it. He lost no friends that day. He's never named one, he's never named three. He never went to a single funeral. Any other politician to lie about this would be banned from New York for life. And yet the dead are still dead. The sick are still sick. And this guy creates new anecdotes and
he refuses to go. Now, personally, for me, on the stolen valor question, please. I was in the Navy for 10 minutes before 9 11. And so for me, I was 27 when 911 happened. So even though I'm a veteran, to me, the stolen valor quote unquote, of pretending that you were at ground zero helping people is more, egregious to me and more offensive to me personally than putting up an AI my slop thing in a uniform. So.
Me as well. But for. For a draft dodger with five deferments, it's still pretty shitty, but, yeah.
Oh, it is still shitty. Just like I. I'm assuming it offends actual Christians when he puts up AI slop of him as Jesus. Yeah, but, you know, I'm so far separated from the military now because of what they did to me and of course what happened afterwards and everything, trying to adjudicate all of that and now with Hegseth completely burning the rest of it to the ground. To me, the. The 911 lie was, more egregious. I don't know if I can adequately express. And I was 3,000 miles away at the time, but I was watching it, and I had gotten out of the military just a few years earlier, and it was, one of the most devastating things I've ever seen. And I wasn't there.
Yeah. Yeah. I mean, this is why it's not really about whether Trump has a faulty Memory, right? I mean, this is about whether a president gets to manufacture his own place in American history. We've already had one Republican president use lies about 911 to kill thousands and thousands of people. And we're still witnessing it. and by the way, I wasn't there either. I was in la. And, I'll never forget, I was sleeping in and then the phone rang and I heard my answering machine and it was Daryl Hammond from snl. And Daryl called and he's like, I just want to let you know we're. Because I was touring with him at the time and he was like, oh, we're all fine over here. We're all okay. And I'm like, okay, what's Daryl talking about? And then I got out of bed and saw the news. I had to come back to New York for a wedding and the flights were all canceled. So we made the drive from LA to New York City in 60 hours that week. And when I got home, you know, to my building downtown, you could still smell it in Greenwich Village. You could still smell. Not just see it, but you could still smell it in Greenwich Village. And it's something that I never want to relive again. And if Barack Obama lied that he personally commanded hundreds of workers at Ground Zero, I think people would ask for evidence. Right.
Well, double standard.
We don't need to Invent a heroic 911 story. We have thousands of heroic 9 11s. And like the young Muslim who was 23 years old in an EMT worker and a, police cadet who ran into the South Tower to help people and was killed when that one collapsed. I mean, there's so many heroes and so many victims and kids who grew up without fathers and mothers and responders who are still sick. And then there's Trump at a ceremony to honor others saying, I'm big. Oh, it's all me, me, m me. And it's like, I'd like to believe that there's enough men on the MAGA side to be disgusted with this on a purely male level, but, it just. I just. I mean, the people who really were heroes don't need Donald Trump to carry them. And they never had any reason to carry Donald Trump. He was not there.
Yeah. And instead of asking why Mamdani is going, maybe ask why Trump is not.
Thank you. Exactly Right. And we know why. He'll deny it and say he wants to go to the Pentagon, but again, he's going to stop.
You got your own plane, bro. You can go to all three sites in the day.
If he wanted to, he could. But he wants to make it about himself, and he's not good at that. So he's gonna bleed his insecurity all over a microphone and make this day all about himself even more. And it will offend decent people. And stupid motherfuckers will say, wow, there's a real leader. And it's gonna be the same as it's been.

Yeah, it's the one year anniversary of Charlie Kirk, getting me canceled from all my TV appearances for my book about Christian nationalism. How to take it down nonviolently. I wish Charlie Kirk was alive. I wish so deeply he was alive to witness the collapse of this racist tower of lies he propped up. Charlie Kirk was famous and wealthy because his job was normalizing white supremacy for college students and white people in their 20s. The only racist our conservative friends have ever been groomed to be offended by is Senator Robert Byrd, who was in the Klan and then of course renounced racism, became a, liberal, devoted his life to civil rights, voted against the Iraq war, voted for Obamacare, and was honored in death by the naacp. That's the one racist you'll hear right wing people going after the one who stopped being racist. I've never heard them criticize a single other person. Just a famous Democrat who had been a racist. But Robert Byrd grew beyond it. And the tragedy of Charlie Kirk is that he's never gonna get to do it. I think I said this on your show a year ago when he died. Charlie Kirk is never gonna get to have an immigrant friend or a transgender friend or a non white friend or a Jewish friend or a Muslim friend and grow beyond his corrosively fake Christian Jesus rejecting bigotries. And that's the real tragedy. He's never gonna get to grow. His kids are gonna grow up and the man he was. Those quotes will still exist. I don't need to repeat a single one of them. His comments about women, his comments about gay people, black people, Native Americans. I could go on. that's his legacy. That's gonna be there Long after Turning Point USA is forgotten and his wife has a QVC deal.
Oh, they'll try to prop him up for as long as they can, but he'll go the way of, See, I can't even remember his name anymore. Rush Limbaugh.
Yeah, exactly. And no one remembers Limbaugh. Limbaugh did nothing good for anyone. And Charlie Kirk, I can't say this enough, did not fight for Jesus. Go to the Turning Point USA website. Friends, you try to find one. You don't need to believe in Jesus, but just go to the Turning Point USA website. Find one Teaching of the Nazarene anywhere on that site, you won't find it. It's all hate for teachers, hate for unions, hate for immigrants, hate for foreigners, hate for uppity minorities, hate for uppity women. No actual Christ. Turning Point USA doesn't follow Jesus. They use him. And the most moral thing you can do on this anniversary is to say, it's a tragedy he's dead and it's a greater tragedy he was a blaspheming racist.

I wanted to write in today and share some good news from this past weekend. I live in a college town on the Wisconsin and Minnesota border and this past week was our Pride event. My friend Jana and I go every year proudly wearing our Ally buttons and supporting those we love. Jana is a, quote, reformed Christian conservative and one of the kindest humans I've ever met. This year I found out that another friend was also going to be there at Pride and she was going to be bringing her 15 year old son and his friend. My friend Kelly is a social worker and also an amazing human and friend. Her son's friend had just come out as trans in his very small rural Minnesota town and some of his family did not respond well. So of course she wanted to make sure he had a good experience. We all ended up going to brunch and then Pride in the park together and we had an amazing time. There were therapy dogs, drag queens, and so much love. Not only did I get to connect two of my favorite people ever, we also got to hang out with a couple of very cool teenagers. They may have grumbled about hanging out with the olds, but they did admit to having a good time. Kelly messaged me afterward and said that her son's friend said he had never felt so normal, quote unquote. And that truly made the whole day worth it. For my Podpet tariff, I've included a photo. Several months ago, I was contacted by a soldier who returned with my daughter from deployment in Afghanistan. Spencer asked if I would help spread the word to my readers and beyond about the 13 year fight it took to get his Afghan interpreter, Abdul Haq, into the United States. The US Made a promise to keep these people safe in return for their service. And what he went through never should have happened. Together, Abdul Haq and Spencer wrote a book called Not Our Problem that tells the story. This weekend, September 12th, they will be doing a book talk in Chicago about the experience. The administration is currently going after these Afghan refugees, threatening to revoke their green cards and deport them back to Afghanistan or the Congo. I want folks to get to know them and understand what they risked to keep our soldiers safe. Get to know them as humans with hopes and dreams who deserve our protection.
