msw media. Hello and welcome to the Daily beans for Friday, October 16, 2026. Today, a backlog of 600,000 voter registration applic has Texas election workers scrambling to process them. According to sources, the investigation into Ilhan Omar aims to strip her of her citizenship and deport her. Secret documents reveal the donors behind $330 million for Trump's ballroom. There was a shooting at Silver Rail Elementary School in Bend, Oregon. The Justice Department's demand for California voter information threatens warrant based ballot seizure. Ukraine has run out of Patriot interceptor missiles. Katie Zakaria admits that despite describing her repeatedly as a lawyer and working as general counsel for a nonprofit, she's never been licensed to practice law and actually failed the California bar. The White House is investigating claims of missing Kennedy center donations. A group cheered as a woman was sexually assaulted at a frat house. At the University of Chicago. Matt Gaetz is accused of rape and sex trafficking. In a new lawsuit, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky is resuming bombing Russian oil refineries in defiance of Donald Trump. The White House has canceled the livestream fir squad execution of Nadal Hassan. And Senate Democrats are going to send 100 election observers to nine states in a first of its kind election protection program. I'm Allison Gill.
And I'm Dana Goldberg.
Okay. I can say pretty easily that that is a record News headlines day.
it is. And it's not all bad news, which is kind of amazing.
It's kind of nice, right? And as you know, it's Fugal saying Fridays here in the beans. So we'll be joined later by John Fugal Sang, host of the Fugal Sang show on Sirius XM Progress 120, New York Times bestselling author all around amazing dude. He's going to join us. And Danak, some quick breaking news before we get to the quick hits. This is happening right now as we record. CBS is reporting at least two people were taken to a hospital, including at least one child, after a shooting at Silver Rail Elementary School in Bend, Oregon.
Oh, Jesus.
The suspect was shot and killed now, but it's not clear who killed the suspect. They were dead when the police arrived. It may have been a bystander. We will keep an eye on this story as it unfolds and updates you on Monday's version of the Daily Beans.
All right, thank you for that. Thank you for, that.
Terrible. I mean, just it's almost every day now in the United States.
That's all right. This is America.
Yeah, exactly. We, have so much news to get to. We Gotta split it up. So let's do some quick hits.
And to make a long story short. Too late.
All right, first up from the Miami Herald, and a surprise to no one. Two women have filed a federal civil lawsuit accusing former Florida Congressman Matt Gaetz. Former nominee to be the Attorney General Matt Gaetz and two others of, participating in an alleged sex trafficking scheme involving young women, drugs, and traveling across State lines. The 33 page complaint filed Monday in the Middle District of Florida details how the former congressman used two of his friends, now convicted ex Seminole County Tax Collector Joel Greenberg and former Florida GOP House member Christopher Dorworth, to coordinate the recruitment of young women whom they supplied with drugs in order to facilitate sexual encounters. And that's according to the lawsuit. These incidents occurred between 2017 and 2019. Now, Jane Doe 1 alleges she witnessed Gaetz having sex with a girl who was 17 at the time. The girl, identified in the suit as Victim A, is not one of the plaintiffs. Jane Doe 1 also alleges she received more than $6,000. And Jane Doe 2 received more than $4,000 from Matt Gaetz with payment descriptions on Venmo. Like being my friend, a, car deductible, and love you. We're going to cover this more in depth on the cleanup on aisle 45 podcast. But we know most of this story when we went through the whole Joel Greenberg and Christopher Worth situation, I mean, it's kind of old news. And they're just now bringing the civil suit.
Fantastic. All right, this is from the Times. President Zelensky's anger with the Trump administration. It burst into view on Thursday when he said he would no longer abide by President Trump's demand to stop striking oil refineries in Russia. It was a remarkably vocal expression by the Ukrainian leader of frustration with the United States as Kiev grapples with what it sees as a betrayal by Washington. Mr. Zelensky's remarks in an interview with the Financial Times published on Thursday brought to a head days of mounting tensions with the Trump administration. It drew expressions of support from European allies in Brussels. But it could be risky move for a country that has depended heavily on US support. In the interview, Mr. Zelensky appeared baffled by Donald's decisions, criticizing him for making deals with Vladimir Putin of Russia and openly admiring dictators who have clung to power. Mr. Putin, the Ukrainian leader said, is real evil. And I quote, how can Trump be friends with him? Mr. Zelensky added, I think it's a mistake. We do, too. Vladimir, I just want you to know that and yeah, thanks for saying the quiet part out loud because we're all thinking it.
Yeah. And you'll have noticed over the past couple of years, in, you know, in attempts to get assistance from other countries, Zelensky has been very nice to Donald Trump. He's been very nice to Bibi Netanyahu. He's been, you know, trying to get the support that he needs to win this war. And I think he's just out of.
He might be. He really might be.
He's also out of missiles. We'll talk about that in a minute. This is from the Post. Trump said on Thursday that the forthcoming execution of the former US army psychiatrist who killed 13 colleagues at Fort Hood in Texas in 2009 will not be live streamed, upending a controversial plan that Kegseth unveiled last week. Nadal Malik Hassan will still be put to death by firing squad. But, quote, this event will not be streamed. That's what Trump said in a social media post and he said, quote, I think streaming the execution for all to see might have been a strong deterrent for the world to witness how America deals with terrorists and scum like Hassan. But many very good and well meaning people would rather not watch him die through streaming or through any other visual device. Trump said. A recent poll, by the way, 82% of Americans were against live streaming the execution.
Who the fuck are the 18% of disgusting human beings pulled by this?
That's, interesting, because when you look at the poll, the only demographic that was for it, MAGA men.
Fuck them. M. You heard me. All right. This is from the Wall Street Journal. The Trump administration's investigation interrupt. Ilhan Omar, the amazing Democrat in Minnesota, is aimed at building a case to strip her of her U.S. citizenship and ultimately deport her. That's according to U.S. officials and other people familiar with the probe. The multi pronged effort is focused, at least in part, on how Omar obtained her citizenship after she arrived in the US From Somalia decades ago. Investigators are focused both on the congresswoman and actions of her deceased father. Some of the people familiar with the probe, that's what they said. Nur Omar Mohammed brought his daughter and other family members to the US from a refugee camp in Kenya, 1995. At the center of the immigration investigation is whether Omar or her father changed her age on her citizenship application to Show she was 17 years old rather than 18, according to People familiar with the probe. If Omar was 17 at the time of her father applied for citizenship, she would have qualified automatically, rather than needing to pursue her own immigration process. She became a citizen. In 2000. Officials at Homeland Security Investigations looked into a similar tip from the Biden administration, according to people familiar with those efforts. But they decided not to move forward because they lacked evidence of fraud. What the fuck, Everyone, really. This is where we're putting our time.
Yeah. And apparently some Republican tried to call in the tip about Ilhan Omar to Merrick Garland, and they, The FBI was like, no, there's no fraud here. So, yeah, that I think would make, for a strong piece of evidence if there's ever any charges brought against him.
I would hope so.
Although I don't know if they're just doing deportation, it'll be, you know, without criminal charges. It's just. It's so beyond fucked up what they're doing.
Yeah, it's disgusting.
All right, this is from Axios. so grain of salt here. But former Trump attorney Alina Haba told Trump that another one of his top advisors, former Kennedy center leader Rick Grinnell, actually failed to deposit a multi million dollar donation that her billionaire husband made to the Kennedy Center a year ago. That's according to four senior administration officials and three insiders briefed on the controversy. Grinnell denied the accusation as absurd and a lie. We are, we're starting to see the circular firing squad, or as Steph Miller calls it, the big bag of rats, is really kind of, coming to a head right now. Marjorie Taylor Greene's going after Donald Trump. Like all of this stuff is coming to a head here. And, if this is accurate reporting, you and I have been saying this forever. The Kennedy center, you know, project that the, the charity or the non profit that Trump moved everything to is just a money laundering grift.
Yeah. And you know, we protect and support the LGBTQ community on this podcast, but not the fascist ones. Sorry, Grinnell. M. All right, this one's from the Chicago Times. And everyone, content warning here for sexual assault. It's a horrifying story. So if you would like to skip to the next story, we completely understand. She came to a fraternity party over the weekend near the University of Chicago campus, where she told the Chicago police she danced and had some drinks. But as, Saturday night gave way to Sunday morning, the 21 year old woman said she began feeling unwell and was sexually assaulted at the Alpha Epsilon Pie House. And that's at, 5625 South University Avenue. According to police report obtained by the Chicago Sun Times. Her account was backed, by the way, by two friends who told police they intervened by barging into A bathroom. As the attack happened on Tuesday afternoon, University of Chicago issued an alert saying a person of interest has been identified. No arrests have been reported. The woman's friends said a group of men had tried to block them from entering the bathroom after the men were seen cheering and appearing to encourage the activity inside. Again, this is all from the report. The group of up to five men initially told the woman's friends she wasn't inside the bathroom. When the two other women pushed forward, a man grabbed one of them by their hair as the other picked the bathroom lock, according to the report. The 21 year old woman was not fully conscious when she was found inside the bathroom, according to the report, which says she and the men were both partially undressed. We'll keep an eye on the story as it develops. And the fucking rape culture in these goddamn fraternities and across this country is just disgusting. And it has been amplified by boys like this becoming men who take power in this country and don't see consequences. Yeah, and it's horrifying. It's horrifying.
All right. Yeah, we're going to keep an eye on, on that. And, again, the ripple effect from the Cornell 7, I think is going to continue. Fraternities need to be abolished. Next up from CNN. Ukraine has run out of missiles for the U.S. made Patriot Air defense system, leaving it more vulnerable to Russian ballistic missile attacks. That' source familiar with the situation speaking to cnn. So this is really, really bad, especially since Zelensky is now out of fucks to give about Donald Trump and is back to bombing refineries. I hope he also gets back to bombing data centers in Russia with drone attacks. But to not have any Patriot missiles for the U.S. patriot Air Defense system really makes them vulnerable, especially heading into the winter. It's just unconscionable.
Yeah, agreed. This is from Judd Legume. In an interview with Pizzagate conspiracy theorist Jack Posobiek, White House Press Secretary Katie Zakaria admits that despite describing herself repeatedly as a lawyer, everybody and working as general counsel for a nonprofit, she has never been licensed to practice law and failed the California Bar. But she used to watch Law and Order, so she feels like she's qualified. I've watched Grey's Anatomy. Just call me Dr. Goldberg.
Do you remember when Republicans gave Dr. Jones a bunch of shit because she wasn't an MD but called herself a doctor?
Yep. Oh, and you mean everyone coming after you on the Internet for the same thing?
Yeah. Or saying that, because he's not a general medicine practitioner outside is Not a real doctor, even though he is an md like, just off.
Yeah.
Anyway, the bs, it runs deep and it runs thick with these people. The hypocrisy is just. It's hyperbolic. I don't even know how else to put it. It's like asymptotic. It just exponentially increases every day with every passing minute.
And for the journalist to be like, when did you pass the bar exam? And heard her yell out, well, I went to China. And then sort of walk away,
she's claiming she didn't quite hear it properly.
She.
She thought they asked, when did you start practicing law? And she said, when I went to China. Because, you know, the question, when did you start practicing law? Sounds just like, when did you pass the bar exam? I mean, absolutely. Anyway, Katie, helicopters. We'll see. Yeah, the helicopter conference. All right, everybody. that was just the quick hits. We've got some hot notes to get to, but we have to take a quick break. Stick around. We'll be right back after these messages. We'll be right back. Hey, everybody. All right, first up from the Post, a list obtained by the Post. The Washington Post reveals all the major donors to President Donald Trump's White House ballroom project, including previously undisclosed contributors who have benefited from regulatory decisions, government contracts, and, in one case, a ah, pardon for a family member. This is just a slush fund to bribe the president. Tech giants Nvidia and Apple each committed 25 million to the ballroom, the top contribution amount. The Adelson family, one of the GOP's largest donor dynasties, committed that sum as well, as did billionaire Charles Ergan, co founder and chairman of Dish Network. Now, an internal spreadsheet used to track contributions for the fundraising effort contains the source, date and amount of all 67 donations above 10 grand recorded as of late last month. It shows a total of $333 million from private donors, aligning, with the administration's public statements. Additional records, also internal to the fundraising effort, provide more detail about the donations and indicate that at least 77 million came from donors who requested anonymity. Other contributors include Google, the CEO of Marvel, the Marvel Universe, Lockheed Martin, Microsoft Rocket Mortgage, and Palantir. Major GOP donor Joseph Popolo Jr. Trump's ambassador to the Netherlands, and his wife contributed a million dollars from their family fund to support the ballroom project in late 2025. And bam, you get to be an ambassador. Trump cabinet member Kelly Loeffler of the Small Business Administration and her husband, Jeff Sprecher, former chairman of the New York stock EXC, promised 5 million for the project. And then, bam, she gets to be in charge of the Small Business Administration. Brandon Lutnick, chairman of the investment bank Cantor Fitzgerald and the son of Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick donated stock work worth more than 2.5 million, according to the records. And then, bam, his dad gets to be the commerce secretary.
And bam, no more talk of the Epstein, files and his visitors visiting to the island.
More than three quarters of the money for the ballroom came in commitments of $5 million each or more. Among the top donors are some of America's Blue chip companies including Amazon, Caterpillar, Comcast, Microsoft and T Mobile. Cryptocurrency companies now under loosened regulations because of the Trump administration and their investors promised more than 18 million. The largest portion came from Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss. Remember these douchebags? Co founders of the Gemini crypto exchange, but also claimed they invented Facebook and tried to take Mark Zuckerberg to court.
Oh, that's right.
Who together donated bitcoin valued at $5 million. One of the earliest commitments to donate from September 23rd came from last year. Came from the daughter of Julio Herrera Volutny, an international banker and dual Venezuelan Italian citizen. In 2022, the Justice Department indicted Herrera Volutny, then 50, on bribery charges under the Biden administration. They charged him, accusing him of helping finance the campaign of Puerto Rico's then governor in exchange for the removal of a regulator investigating his bank. The former governor and political consultant were also charged, and Trump then pardoned them after they donated to his little Ballroom project. Last year. Aragon, the telecom guy from Dish Network, found his company EchoStar in the Trump administration's crosshairs. But then he donated $12.5 million to the ballroom and the investigation in him was dropped by the Trump administration. Now there's a lot more pay to play in this article. It's extremely long. Including the Rocket mortgage guy, who also owns the Cleveland Cavaliers, getting a merger appro after donating. The salesforce guy got a $6 billion government contract. Billion. $6 billion government contract after making a donation. You can read all the details in the Washington Post story. I've posted it, on my feed on Blue Sky.
I really wish the other side would see stuff like this and care. You know what I mean? They're just stealing money from you. They don't give a shit about them. All right, next up from democracy docket, the Department of Justice's new demand that California election officials prevent an unverified, federal list of alleged noncitizens from voting or face legal action, and I quote, appears to be plausible threat that DOJ will attempt to engage in warrant based ballot seizure. Democrats said in a new court filing overnight. The warning comes in. The Democratic National Committee's ongoing lawsuit against the Trump administration seeking documents about any plans to interfere in the midterm elections, which is a really weird thing to sue for. I'm sorry, dnc, we'd like any documents about your plans to interfere in midterm elections. It seems like a strange. Ask Allison. Any records related to the matter should be produced with urgency. The DNC said. Well, the DNC sued the administration in August for violating the Freedom of Information act after its request for records on plans to seize ballots, voting machines or other election materials went unanswered for five months. In the new joint status report filed overnight, Democrats said the DOJ's criminal division sent them a final response letter in early October, saying their continued search yielded no responsive records.
Hi. We're the doj. We have no records of us talking about seizing ballots, even though we completely did that in Fulton county in 2020. I know.
Oh, my God. But a letter sent this week by Acting Deputy Attorney General R. Trent McCotter to California Secretary of State in the Los Angeles registrar appear to dispute that finding. That's what Democrats said. This is a quote. The letter threatens that if California officials fail to comply with DOJ demands within 48 hours, the Department will have no ch. Choice but to seek emergency relief. Coming from the acting Deputy Attorney General overseeing the Criminal division, this appears to be a plausible threat that DOJ will attempt to engage in warrant based ballot seizure.
Yeah, this just seems like a pretext to snatch our ballots so they don't count, you know?
Yep.
And, it seems like DNC democracy docket, Democracy defenders, Norm Eisen, they seems like they're all ready for this kind of eventuality. And I know that when I spoke to Jocelyn Benson and Cisco Aguilar, Secretaries of State and, you know, speaking on. On behalf of the Democratic association of Secretaries of State, they've been gaming this shit out for over a year and a half now. So, okay, they're as ready as they can be for it. They've got the lawsuits ready to go. They just have to fill in the dates and all that shit. All right, quick update on the Rick Grinnell Kennedy center shit. Apparently Trump called him from the Oval Office to confront him over Alina Haba's claim that her billionaire husband's $5.6 million our slush fund Kennedy center donation never arrived and Grinnell denied it. And they were cussing and swearing and screaming and yelling, so maybe bad news for Rick Grinnell. He might be the next to go. Hm. Bummer. Oh, yeah, never. You know, just. If you think that somehow you're gonna be protected working in the Trump administration, you're delusional. Next up from the Times, a computer error, a glitch, Dana. Caused a backlog of 600,000 voter registrations in Texas.
Oh, look at that.
Just a glitch.
Sure it wasn't on purpose or anything? Sending election workers scrambling to process them before early voting starts this Monday. The backlog of nearly 600,000 applications stemmed from a glitch in the software run by the Texas Department of Public Safety, according to a lawsuit filed last week by voting rights groups. They accused the agency, as well as the secretary of state, who serves as Texas's chief election officer, of failing to maintain a reliable online voter registration system. The backlog appeared to have been mostly cleared by Wednesday, which is pretty good news, according to county election officials. I'm not sure which ones, though, several of whom said there was little risk that Texans who tried to register would be unable to vote.
Really?
But voting advocates say they're worried that the episode might discourage voters from turning out at all. Yeah, it's called voter suppression. The lawsuit filed last week in Bexar county demanded that the error be fixed. It cited previous legal actions that resulted in a settlement in 2021 in which Texas agreed with voting rights groups to offer residents the option of online voter registration. The lawsuit, which named Mr. Howden and Freeman F. Martin, director of the Department of Public Safety, among its defendants, said the backlog had resulted from a programming error on a website for driver's license applications that was also supposed to allow applicants to register to vote. Because of the glitch, voters who checked yes to register to vote between December 2025 and February 2026 received a receipt confirming their choice, but their data was never recorded.
so much shenanigans. Everyone just get out and take everyone fucking with you. And you know the laws in the state, they don't have you in there. You get to some of these states, you get to register when you walk
in or ask for a provisional ballot.
Provisional ballot? Absolutely.
All right.
From Democracy Docket with the threat of federal election interference looming large over the midterms, Senate Democrats plan to send more than 100 congressional staff to observe voting sites in nine states, the first program of its kind for the upper chamber. Observers trained as part of the Senate Election Observer Program, which launched in June, will be on the ground to document voter interference efforts, along with threats against election workers, disinformation tactics and any other attempts to meddle with vote voting on election day and during post election period. Congressional observers are not new, by the way, but it's usually the U.S. house of Representatives that sends them to monitor voting throughout the country. Congress has the constitutional authority to send observers, but the 2024 confirmation of congressional Observer Access act codified and clarified the rules governing its observer program. The new law it allowed Senate to establish its own Election observer programs, which is run by the Senate Rules Committee. Senate Republic Republicans are also planning to send their own observers to the poll sites in November. Democrats decision to deploy Senate observers. It comes amid heightened fears that Trump is going to exploit his office to interfere in the voting process. Despite the Constitution explicitly granting control of election administration to the states, not the president, many Trump allies have pushed for the president to take over voting. Trump members of his administration and key figures in the MAGA movement have floated the possibility of sending armed law enforcement to the polls, seizing ballots and voting equipment, and conducting mass voter purges. The U.S. department of justice is also planning to deploy a thousand election monitors to election sites across the country. This is going to be a fucking wild midterm.
It's going to be a wild night. And, I know a lot of our patrons are going to join Harry, Dunn and I over at, the secret place. I can't tell you where it is unless you're a patron and you're going. But for our election night watch party here in San Diego, we'll all be together to see all of it go down. So, my goodness, I am both simultaneously dreading and looking forward to that night.
same. Yep.
What did my friend call it? Nauseously optimistic.
that is a perfect example.

You have the title. Wow.
For all your alliteration needs, please welcome John Fegelsang. Hey, buddy.
Why, thank you so much. Happy. Matt Gaetz is being sued for sex trafficking. To all who celebrate. Hello, Alison.
Hello.
And burying the lady is also being sued for rape. Yes, because there is an allegation in there, but not from the 17 year old that he had sex with, but that, somebody witnessed.
Correct. But one of the women suing him is verifying that she saw him have sex with the 17 year old. And that's why he was qualified to be the top cop in America, according to Donald Trump.
Yeah. And I'm really curious to see where that goes because I know this happened nine or eight or nine years ago, so I'm curious as to the statute of limitations on that. Maybe there isn't one because it's involves sex trafficking and sexual assault of a minor. So we'll see. I have to imagine the lawyers are smarter than the lawyer that is now the press secretary.
Oh, that's a lawyer. Yes, that is a lawyer, but not an attorney. We're all getting our legal civics lesson this week to know that, Katie Zakaria, that she's related to Fareed Zakaria. Right. They have so much in common, that, that she told them she was an attorney and Trump announced she was an attorney, but she just, she finished law school, never took the bar. But, but you know, Dr. Jill Biden's not a real doctor. Do you understand now?
That's exactly what I just posted on Blue Sky. I'm like, oh, I'm, I'm not a, I'm not a real doctor because I don't have an md. I see, right.
Yes, exactly. So even though, even though Dr. Al Sayed, is a real doctor because he's not a general pract or he's not a real doctor, but, M M. Zakaria is a real lawyer even though she never took the bar. Are you understanding now? Are you, are you understanding Magalogic?
I think I'm all caught up. I think I'm.
Okay, then we'll tell you about how Jesus wants you to execute prisoners on live camera because it's, it's a whole different new world of logic that, that they're giving us.
Jesus is super Prof. Firing squad, right?
Oh, totally. Jesus. If you read the Jesus parts, he's all about one thing. Vengeance and payback. Jesus loves it when prisoners are shot. And, that's why Pete Hegseth has a sad today. I actually think that Pete Hegseth pulled it off. I never thought they'd actually murder this person on camera. And yes, it's murder when the government does it, folks. It's amazing how the right wingers don't think it's murder if the government they hate does it. They're so big government that way. But Pete Hegseth managed for a good solid week to get us to stop talking about his incompetency in this illegal, destructive, bloody, stupid war, and instead talk about his lack of morality, wanting to, you know, make a snuff film.
Right.
And, of course, now they've changed their minds. The apparent reason is that Donald Trump had no idea that Hassan was in a wheelchair, from being paralyzed by being shot in the back by law enforcement during the mass shooting. And, he said that just wouldn't play well. Well, public executions, totally great, but not if they're in a wheelchair. Yeah. Which just blows my mind. 82% of Americans, I think, in the latest poll were against this.
I mean, it's incredible for so many reasons. I was on Piers Morgan earlier this week because I am a masochist. And one of the survivors of the shooting was on. And he agrees with the execution. He does not agree with airing it, because why make this guy a martyr? We already know all the reasons, because I don't think they ever legitimately meant it. I think they did this as a branding exercise and as a distraction. And Donald Trump's not really good at many things, but one thing he's consistently been good at is, media manipulation and getting us to talk about stupid shit, because that keeps us from talking about treasonous shit. So it just gets me because these are the guys who try to force Jesus down our throats everywhere, right? Pete Hagseth, I mean, Pentagon, government, Jesus, schools, Jesus, every part of civic life, Jesus, Jesus. But when it actually comes to the red letters spoken by that Jesus and what he said about violence and how you're supposed to treat prisoners, that's where it makes me kind of stabby. Because the Jesus these people pretend to follow overturns eye for an eye in the Sermon on the Mount, his first ever public appearance, and he overturns retributive justice and the death penalty. And then he goes on in John 8 to say, that only sinless people are allowed to execute. And, that's when he stops a legal execution of a sexually shamed woman by a religious mob. And then in Matthew 25, before he dies, he says, how you treat the prisoner is how you treat me. And these douchebags. From that extrapolate, oh, yeah, we can kill prisoners. Jesus likes it because Old Testament something. And again, you don't need to believe in any of the Bible to call these rat bastards out. That's the most offensive part of it. They keep showing us that they use religion just as camouflage, and the media is still too terrified to call out their blaspheming fraud.
Yeah, yeah. And something else that, the media has been sort of sane washing for the past, I don't know, eight months is the Iran war, but now also kind of equivocating on Putin and what's going on in Ukraine, where we just had, once again, this happened last year actually, when, Elon Musk shut down or throttled Starlink, and the Ukrainian military's missions were, were kind of, sabotaged. And Musk admitted that he did it, and he said, I don't want Starlink being used to kill people, even if they're Russians, and then created Star Shield, which is the same thing, but you're allowed to use it to kill people. But then he blamed Trump, and then Trump says, no, we're not in charge of Star Shield. Elon Musk is. And so they're having a little tiff about that. And meanwhile, they've run out of, I, think Patriot interceptors years.
Yeah, yeah, thanks, South. But they'll blame that on, on Joe Biden again. They'll blame it on Ukraine. They'll blame it on Zelensky. In reality, we were giving Zelensky old munitions and using all that money to keep it right here in the country and, and build new ones. But it's crazy because Donald Trump ran for president as the great defender of freedom, and Elon Musk promotes his brand over and over again about, I'm saving civilization. I'm saving civilization and freedom. And we have to have all the anti Semites come back on Twitter because free, free, free, free. And they've now decided the best way, I think, to defend the free world is to make murder on a massive scale a lot easier for Vladimir Putin. Right? I mean, these are the freedom guys, the strongman whisperers, you know, these soft millionaire Nepo baby geniuses. And they all think democracy is a scam. And they think these dictators are just, you know, businessmen looking to make a deal. And international law is like a convenient optional throw pillow. And, you know, you can cancel international law like, a Netflix or a child who's trans you no longer like. And it's like, I'm waiting for the media to stand up and say, hey. Or the Republican Party to stand up and say, ukraine's fighting for its survival. Ukraine didn't invade Russia. Ukraine didn't send tanks across an international border to conquer Russian territory. Ukraine didn't launch a war to restore some Soviet fantasy about a master race empire. Ukraine was invaded. They're defending themselves. They love to talk about self defense and standing your ground in this country. And as you well know and your attractive listeners, we signed a treaty in 1994, promising to help them if they give up their nukes. And now Trump treats that treaty like he treats a wife. I mean, it's just like, pushed it.
Pushed it down the stairs and buried it at his golf course.
Exactly. yeah. It's a marriage. Marriage oath. Imagine your house is invaded, and they burn down your garage, and they rape your wife and they kill your dog and they brutalize your kids. And then the police show up and say, well, you're being unreasonable. Why won't you just sit and come to an agreement with the guys invading your house? Right. So then the cops cut off your water supply, and they give the home invaders a discount coupon, and they tell your kids, you should have a more cooperative dad. And that is the moral logic we're being asked to admire here.
Yeah. And m. Speaking of invading people's houses, I'm interested in your thoughts on what's going on with Representative Ilhan Omar, Minnesota.
Yeah. wow. A lot of people way too happy about that.
I mean, the same party, by the way, who excoriated Jack Smith for getting toll records of Congress people. Right? They seized her phone. They see. Yeah.
Trump. Trump's white. Allison.
Oh, sorry.
Right. Those were. Those weren't really stolen. He was borrowing those. Okay. All the thousands of national security documents he stole and lied about. Again, Donald Trump was not prosecuted for the classified documents he stole and then returned. He would, because they told him, return them all, and he only returned part of them. We have amnesia in this country. He was prosecuted because he stole and kept it. So, Ilhan Omar, this is the white whale that they've wanted for a long time. They hate her. So now, three weeks before the midterms, Trump is sending agents to raid the home of this black Muslim naturalized American citizen who has spent years criticizing Trump and telling the truth about Trump and his immigration policies. And the reason we're given is that 40 years ago, when she was a child, her father may have filled out the paperwork wrong on their naturalization. It's law and order. Daddy did the forms wrong.
Wrong.
That's the show we're watching. It is interesting, though, and I want to get your opinion. A judge signed off on this warrant. I mean, what do you make of that? I. I don't want to automatically come out and say, everyone's innocent. There's nothing to see here. I haven't seen all the facts. I don't trust these guys. We know we can't trust them. We know it's stupid of them to do this. Three weeks before an election. But, I mean, what do you make of the fact that somehow they got a judge to execute a warrant?
Are you sure they got a judge to execute the warrant?
Well, no, actually, I'm not. Maybe they just did it because they.
Because right now I'm suing the Department of Homeland Security that's been using administrative warrants to go into people's homes in violation of the Fourth Amendment. And they actually have an officer general counsel memo that, justifies that legally. And they won't share it with me because they call it deliberative process, even though they've turned it into a policy which you aren't allowed to keep secret.
Oh, there you go.
Once you have it. So we're in the middle of that litigation. So.
So.
And also, how many times has DHS lied to the courts or the FBI lied to the courts on warrants to illegally enter somebody's house? I'm thinking Breonna Taylor, for example.
And how many times has this White House lied about this congresswoman? I mean, we were told that she, her dad, participated in war crimes and genocide. Then this lie that she said, Al Qaeda, made her proud. I mean, like, who's this supposed to persuade?
Raid.
When I heard that they had raided her house, I thought, wow, they're that desperate. They're that scared. They're not trying to get new voters anymore. They're not trying to get Democrats on their side. They're trying to keep their own base of racists. They're, like, doing this just to give some red meat to the people that they should be counting on. This is, like, the fact that they have to spend money in Kansas and Nebraska right now, like, who's the swing voter in Pennsylvania? Who's looking at the price of groceries and health insurance and like, well, now that Homeland Security has invaded Ilon Omar's house over her dad doing bad paperwork 40 years ago, I'm definitely voting Republican. Like, I mean, is there, like, a fascist bucket list in the West Wing and they're trying to click off everything before it happens? I mean, yes, this is a total surprise.
And don't forget, before Todd Blanch was the Attorney General, he was Donald Trump's private defense attorney and was arguing two jurisdictional courts. Two courts. That, this was some sort of election interference. Jack Smith, when he turned in the evidence underlying his indictment close to the 2024 election, you know, pursuant to a court order, they whinged and whined about how they were, violating the 60 day Department of Justice policy and trying to Interfere in an election.
That's right. Well, that's Attorney Generalissimo Todd Blanche, who's the best AG Gilead has ever had.
I mean, claiming that in 2022 when Trump wasn't even on the ballot. Oh yeah, when they were investigating him.
But that's why Todd Blanche is the Attorney General, right? To protect Trump. Like over in England, Prince Andrew, a member of the royal family, is being prosecuted for his involvement in the Epstein child rapes. Because Todd Blanche is not in charge over there. They don't care about protecting those people in the uk and that's why we're seeing results. I mean this is like, still his personal defense. I'm still shocked by it. Like, that's the part that still shocks me that this guy, guy. It's like. It's like if the Joker decided the driver is getaway car should be chief of police in Gotham, right? Like, I mean even Susan Collins. Even Susan. Susan Collins voted again. When she thinks you've gone too far, that's like you're thrown out of Olive Garden for too many breadsticks. So there, the whole thing is like all determined upon Todd Blanche and this ongoing corruption. But in the case of Representative Omar, this is more about rumor and conjecture now. This is going to backfire. Her base is going to turn out so strong. She will be so resoundingly re elected. And we know for a fact they're trying to deport her. That's why this is all happening. An American citizen, Donald Trump, came out denaturalize her. Yeah, yeah. Came out in his first term and called four African American congresswomen of color and said, go back where you came from. If an unpaid intern said that to four women of color in any corporation in this country, he'd be fired. But in America, we hold the president to a lower standard than an unpaid intern at a corporation. And so much of this is about the lie that she married her brother. They love this, right? They. They love talking about this and, and that whole conspiracy. She's denied this over the years. Her relationship history is very complicated. She was with this one guy and then split up, married to this guy for two years and then went back to the first guy. But like, my understanding is I don't think that's illegal. No, it's not illegal. But I mean the, the human. And human relationships are complicated, right? Things are, things get to be a mess. But there's no evidence ever that she married her brother. Just a bunch of racists who believe the first black president wasn't Really a citizen. And the lie is that she married her brother to help get him to the United States. But according to U.S. citizenship and Immigration Services policy, my understanding is when immigrants apply for permanent residency status, status, if I don't know why, the whole family would come over at the same time and leave one sibling overseas. But if you are a spouse or a sibling of a US Citizen, then you can apply as well. So she wouldn't have had to marry her sibling because he was her sibling. And if this guy only married her to get citizenship, then why the freak did he go back and move to England as soon as the marriage broke up? Like, again, it's birtherism on steroids. Ah, this allegation is not true. But you got the J.D. vance's of the world out there saying, oh, James Talarico is a gay vegan. And so, you know, they can't enforce the law. They're just going to try to smear other people to make themselves look good. That's all they've got left. It appears they don't really have anything to run on that they can brag about.
Yeah, it's the, it's the Shane Gillis, school of politics.
Oh dear. Yeah, except, yeah, but wow. I mean, mean, get me started on that guy. I'm sorry. No, not going to go there. Not going to go there. I mean, think about these fake Christians who love the stupid racist lie about the first black president. He wasn't born here and it's like his mom's a citizen, you idiots. Of course he's a c. They didn't care. The, the racism was too precious. And so knowing a sibling of a citizen could apply for permanent residency. They don't care. They don't care about the logic. They're here for the hate and Trump tells them what they want to believe. This is the same sickness that allowed Christians to enslave people. People and perform ethnic cleansing on the indigenous folks. And it's still alive and well. They're convinced they're superior morally, so they get to lie and be as racist as they want. And then we get to see all these folks at home at Thanksgiving this year.
Yeah, and I bet we get to read all about it in your book that comes out Fake Christians A Biblically Correct Guide to Breaking the Grip of Holy Hypocrites, Gospel Grifters and Theocratic Thugs.
I like when you say it.

Ah, thanks, ag. This one's from Anonymous. No pronouns given. Hi, Ag and dg. I live in Minneapolis, adjacent to the Cedar Riverside neighborhood that was under sea during Metro surge. This district is represented by Rep. Alon Omar. During one of my walks a couple of weeks ago, I noticed a UPS box that I don't recall seeing before. In light of all that's happening and the recent raid of Omar's D.C. home, the message on the box is more important than ever. Vote. Vote Blue. I beg you. No one wants to live like this. No one needs to live like this.
Somebody put a sticker on the mailbox that says this machine kills fascists.
It's Fantastic. Fantastic.
I love it. And I believe is a hat tip to Guthrie, whose guitar said, this machine kills fascists. Thank you so much for that. Next up from Anonymous, she and her hey Beans Queens writing once again from the deep blue New Orleans in maybe not so red Louisiana. I really loved the Alabama Rama rundown and the good news last week. And I wanted to shout out some exciting races in Louisiana that are getting zero national attention. Given how many notoriously terrible representatives currently come from our state, listeners should know about the amazing grassroots candidates running to oust them for the Senate seat currently held by Bill Cassidy. Jamie Davis, a third generation black farmer running on a common sense, progressive platform. His opponent, Julia Letlow, got her current congressional seat after her husband died. Much like Ms. Darlene, she signed an NDA with Meta and bought stock in the company shortly before plans for a giant data center in north Louisiana was announced. Data centers are about as popular here as they are in the rest of the country, and polls have shown Jamie only four points behind. Wow. But this hasn't received the same kind of attention as other surprisingly close races nationwide. A, note on our congressional races. Our primaries were canceled in the 11th hour so that Janky Jeff Landry could gerrymander away one of our two majority minority districts after the Koolais decision. This meant that our grassroots candidates had to spend more money to restart their campaigns. It also means that the November 3rd election will be a primary for these seats. It's a jungle primary, meaning any race where a candidate does not cross 50.1% of the vote goes to a runoff. I've seen social media discourse admonishing the state for having more than one Democratic candidate in some districts and splitting the vote in our primaries. Any vote that does not go to the incumbent makes a runoff more likely. This is particularly important in Louisiana's fourth, currently held by Elf on a shelf himself, Mike Johnson. this is great. This is well written. There are two great candidates on the ballot challenging him. Conrad Cable, another farmer, and Matthew Gromlich. They have both pledged to support each other in the event of a runoff. Right. Pull as many votes as you can away from Mike Elf on a Shelf, Mike Johnson. In other districts, Louisiana won. Lauren Jewett, a special ed teacher and fellow millennial, is challenging Steve Scalise. Oh, I hate Scalise. Yeah, I've been volunteering with her campaign and I can say she's absolutely who we need in Congress. She's extremely hard working and genuine. I don't live in her district, so I can't vote for her, but I'm doing my best to get her name out there to the people who can. Louisiana's third District Good old Clay Higgins Bl. John Day is a veteran and a moderate Democrat running to unseat Clay Higgins. Louisiana 6th this has been the state's second majority minority district. It was and is currently held by Democrat Cleo Fields, who decided not to run for reelection after it was gerrymandered away. Lindsey Rubio Garcia is a teacher and a lawyer running for the seat, and she's amazing. Check out her social media clips of her testifying against the gerrymandered map. None of these candidates are professional politicians. They aren't taking PAC money, so donations and social media visibility goes a long way. Louisiana may seem like a most unlikely state to flip, but we had a Democratic governor in 2016 through 2024, which is why we were, one of the only Southern states with Medicaid expansion. Pushing voter turnout here can potentially make the difference. Voting here starts October 20th. The last day to early vote is October 27th. I'll be working my local precinct on the final day of voting November 3rd. Thank you so much for reading this. I know it's long for my tariff. A pic of me and some friends meeting Calypso, the African penguin at the Audub Aquarium last weekend, and Pierogi, nicknamed Pierrot, who you've seen before, but he thinks you may not recognize him in his Halloween costume on his way to doing therapy dog work. Thank you so much. So we've had the Alabamarama and now we've got the Louisiana Ding Dong. And we are going to put all of these links to these candidates in the show Notes for you. Look at this. Oh, the penguin Heddo. Oh, the baby and the dog draft dressed as a giraffe. Pierrot. Oh my goodness. So amazing. Thank you again so much for breaking all that down for us.
Anonymous Yes, I got Jim in Indiana Pronouns he and him. My wife and I got around to making some contributions today after hearing your conversation with Justin Pearson. In addition to his campaign, we gave to Blue Wave Nation. Hope that's right. The gardeners and arborists worked to frame the falls and the CCC built stairs and the park path beautifully. Wow, that's really gorgeous. Oh, my God. Thank you for the waterfall picture.

All right, everybody. Our final submission for the week is from T pronoun she and her hello, beautiful beans queens. I would like to give a shout out to my do. Oh, amazing. Savannah. She's not a hero in the typical sense, but she changed my father immeasurably. He's never been an animal person. He was fine knowing they existed, but didn't want him around him. Enter this magical creature who was a rescue when her previous owner passed and his daughter, my friend, could not keep her, so I figured my dad would tolerate her. But instead. Oh, I saw his heart soften day by day. Took a year, but he fell so in love with Savannah that he and my mom decided to to get a dog of their own named Walnut. In August, my dad was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. With three to five years before he passes, I know he will forget who I am and how much love we share. But I also know how much he has changed and grown because of a silly dog who sucks on her back toe beans. He's become a kinder, gentler, and more patient person because of her. She has truly given our family a magical gift in seeing him grow so much in such a short time time. Don't feel bad if you can't guess or breed. I was a vet tech for 15 years and only got one of them right, but to our family, she's 100% best dog ever. Picture just Savannah sucking on her back toe beans and walnut being adorable.
