msw media. Hello and welcome to the Daily beans for Friday, November 6, 2026. Today, California Governor Gavin Newsom commutes the death sentences of over 500 prisoners. The new Democratic Congress is gearing up for robust investigations into Republican corruption. Department of justice civil rights chief Hermeet Dhillon has resigned. She actually resigned three weeks ago, but announced it today. Democrats flipped 12 plus more House seats. Multiple senators elect are challenging. Chuck Schumer remaining as Majority leader. Trump is weighing firing Secretary of Defense Peter Pete Hegseth. Newly minted blue states are preparing to challenge anti trans and abortion measures. Marco Rubio is considering stepping down to run for president in 2028. The stock market plunged as investors retreat from artificial intelligence. And Russell Brand has been convicted on rape charges. I'm, your host, Alison Gill. Hi, everybody. Happy Friday. Dana's out today. She's hosting a big gala in New York. She's fundraising. So, she'll be back on Monday. And later in the show, it's Fugal Sang Friday. So we're going to be talking with John Fugalsang, host of the John Fugal sang show on SiriusXM progress and also the author of the new book Fake A Biblically Correct Guide to Breaking the Grip of Holy Hypocrites, Gospel Grifters and Theocratic Thugs. So we're going to speak with him later in the show about everything that's happened this week, especially in the midterm elections. Also, Hermeet Dhillon, the head of the Civil Whites Division, as I call it, at Department of Justice, is out. Apparently she resigned three weeks ago. There's some competing stories going back and forth about why she left. Some folks say the midterm elections maybe pushed her over the edge. Others are reporting that ever since she was slighted and, like, not given a promotion after Pam Bondi was removed, she's been really dissatisfied with Todd Blanche and main justice leadership. But whatever, she's leav. And apparently this is, ah, a big deal. It's a big black eye for the Trump administration because she's one of the only people left that, you know, I mean, they're dwindling numbers of people who are willing to put forward these MAGA investigations, especially in the midterm elections. And a lot of people are speculating that the reason she sort of largely sat out of the midterm elections is for two reasons. One was because she was leaving, and the other is because what they're saying inside the White House is that the Democrats made it too big to rig which sort of implies that they would have rigged it if it were closer. Anyway, she's gone, and we're very happy about that. Andy McCabe and I are going to discuss that more and, you know, the potential future of the Civil Rights division on this weekend's episode of the Unjustified podcast. Of course, you know, she's going to be replaced with somebody, not great. And I don't think we'll be able to remake the justice department until 2029 when we take the White House. Democrats take the White House. But, you know, I'm glad she's gone. And we have more election results. Democrats have flipped the Attorney General seat in Iowa. And we have multiple House flips for Democrats, too. Ohio, 10. Knickerbocker 1. That's a democratic flip. These are all Democratic flips. Arizona, six for Mendoza. North Carolina, nine for Ojeda. And that is the seat that the, you know, the Republican chair had, and he lost it. North Carolina won. Don Davis has flipped the seat there. Virginia won. Taylor, the Democrat won that. Arizona won. me. Shah. Dr. Shah won that seat. North Carolina, 13 and 14. Barringer and Womack flipped those seats. North Carolina, 6. Jefferson flipped it. Montana, 1 4. Stock flipped that seat. Colorado, 5. Killen flipped it. New Jersey, 2. Mullock. And that is a big one because that got rid of Van Orden in New Jersey's second district. That's, a flip there. And New York, 17. Conley has beaten Mike Lawler. It's also looking like Lauren Boebert might lose her seat. And of course, Scott Colomb leads Cindy Hyde Smith by, about 1900 votes in the Mississippi Senate race. And a fun fact here. Biden appointed Scott Colomb to be a federal judge, and it was Cindy Hyde Smith who blocked him. He's about to take her job and the blue slips to appoint, ah, judges. So that's very fun. I just wanted to bring that to your attention. All right, we have a ton of news to get to. Let's hit the hot notes. Hot notes. All right, first up from Ms. Now, Jamie Raskin, who is poised to become chair of the House Judiciary Committee, told Ms. NOW that Trump's Attorney General Todd Blanche could face impeachment hearings when Democrats take back the gavels in January, the Maryland Democrat said that under Blanche's leadership, the Department of Justice has become the Department of Injustice. Speaking on Ms. Now's Post Midterms primetime special Wednesday, Raskin said voters he met on the campaign trail repeatedly expressed concern about the Department of Justice's constant interference in the election, quote, I would always say in the final analysis that our best insurance policy against a stolen election is a landslide election. And he added, the voters, the American people, delivered a landslide repudiation of all the lawlessness and corruption. So with Democrats set, to take control of the House, Raskin vowed to investigate Blanche, who previously served as one of the President's personal attorneys, and his conduct as well. The House Judiciary Committee is typically the panel responsible for investigating and drafting formal articles of impeachment. And from ABC7 in New York, Democratic led House committees are expected to simultaneously launch several investigations into the Trump administration and to use their subpoena power, if necessary, to compel testimony and document production. Quote, I think we've demonstrated in this Congress an ability to both aggressively push back against the administration and their extremism whenever and wherever possible with, while at the same time trying to get things done in the best interest of the American people. That's Hakeem Jeffries. Speaking to reporters earlier this month. Jeffries said a focus of committee's investigations will be corruption allegations. And as it relates to the Epstein investigation, Representative Garcia of Oversight has said he wants to hold public hearings which would replace the interviews that occurred behind closed doors when Republicans were in control. Garcia has previously said he wants to subpoena Attorney General Todd blanch over the DOJ's handling of the Epstein files and the pages that were withheld. Sources have told ABC News that the committee is expected to request the testimony of other White House officials as well. Garcia is expected to interview Trump's son in law, Jared Kushner, along with other Trump family members about their alleged business dealings. Now, you'll recall Donald Trump by decree has expanded the, definition of executive privilege to include people who don't work for the government. So I'm sure Kushner is going to try to invoke that they're also going to investigate the killings of Renee Good and Alex Preddy by ICE agents in Minneapolis and use of force against US Citizens. Alleged corporate corruption is on the table too. Garcia says he plans to investigate corporate donors to the White House ballroom. No big contracts like the Reflecting Pool contractor and companies he says are ripping off the American people. Now, Jamie Raskin, as I said, presumptive chairman of House Judiciary Committee, has said he plans to investigate everything from Trump family businesses to what he called the politicization of the Department of Justice and FBI, along with antitrust issues like corporate mergers. Think Paramount, Skydance. Now, Raskin intends to probe the attempted prosecutions and investigations of Trump's perceived political enemies as well, including former FBI Director Jim Comey, New York Attorney General Letitia James, John Brennan, the former CIA director, among others. And Raskin will focus on the firings of career prosecutors and the decisions surrounding the administration's $1.8 billion anti weaponization fund. Whoop, whoop. I still have a lawsuit out about that. Raskin intends to probe pay to play allegations surrounding Trump's clemency powers, the pardon power and the House Armed Services Committee. Representative Adam Smith, the committee's Top Democrat since 2010 and presumptive chairman, has pledged more intense oversight of the Pentagon and Pete Hegseth's leadership. In May, Smith told Bloomberg the government he wants more transparency on what the Pentagon is up to, more transparency on war plans in Iran and Venezuela and Cuba and of course the Caribbean boat strikes. The Iran war and its cost are also going to be investigated as Smith intends to probe the decision to go to war with Iran, launched Feb. 28 without congressional authorization and the administration's shifting justifications. Casualties and conduct in the war also coming under scrutiny. The committee will likely probe U.S. service member deaths and injuries and civilian casualties and probably the covered up destruction of our bases overseas. and the boat strikes as well. The committee is expected to probe the strikes on alleged drug smuggling, M boats in the Caribbean and Hegseth's management of the Pentagon. The firing of senior military leaders, a concern raised by members of the committee of both sides of the aisle. Smith also intends to probe the administration's defense budget. The House Homeland Security and Education and Workforce committees are also expected to hold oversight hearings. So for, everyone who was hoping they would do some investigations, they've got a lot on their plate and a lot of plans. Next up from Politico, the conservative movement to bar transgender athletes from women's sports showed its message was resonating beyond Republican strongholds as voters in Arizona, a state with a Democratic governor and senators, approved a ballot initiative to restrict transgender students from participating on sports teams that align with their gender identity. The measure expands the state's existing ban on trans athletes participating in women's school sports. It adds restrictions on locker room use and defines a person's sex based on the birth certificate. Similar measures in Colorado and Washington passed in early results. Votes are still being counted, though. And in Nebraska, voters added a ban to their state constitution. But according to Aaron Reed at Aaron in the Morning in Colorado, a state many transgender people fled to because of its strong protective legislation, a sports ban and a surgery ban for transgender youth were ahead by razor thin margins of 52 to 48. Again, neither has been called. But importantly, both measures are statutes, not constitutional amendments. That means the legislature can rewrite them, and it makes them ripe for challenge under the Colorado Constitution. In a state with strong legal protections for transgender people and a state supreme court that has enforced them, meaning the laws may never truly take hold, a state constitutional challenge would also be largely insulated from the US Supreme Court. The case would run through the state court system, and the US Supreme Court lets states interpret their own constitutions to protect more rights than the federal constitution does now. In the meantime, transgender people can take heart that the measures, if they pass, will do so by very narrow margins. Transgender sports participation is not the 8020 issue. Some have claimed. It looks closer to a 5050 issue. Voters also had relatively little time to learn what the laws would actually do. It remains to be seen what the impacts will be, but given how narrowly the measures appear to be passing, a strong campaign against them could conceivably defeat similar measures in the future, making state ballot measures far from the slam dunk anti trans activists had envisioned. Advocates and state leaders are not waiting for court challenges, though. They're already, talking about other ways to defang these measures. Colorado governor elect Phil Weiser said, quote, we're going to have to take a look at these anti trans measures and what adjustments are necessary and appropriate. It's important we recognize that sometimes something is passed and it's incomplete, it is not administratable. It is a, natural and I believe appropriate rule for the legislature to say what are the adjustments that need to be made? And on the sports band specifically, he said, I don't believe it would be acceptable to Colorado to have every student athlete have to go through full body examinations or other invasions of privacy. So Aaron Reed says, what might this mean in practice? The measure itself never says how sex is supposed to be verified. So it could be defanged by allowing a birth certificate to serve as proof of sex in sports, a document that in many states, including Colorado, allow trans people to change, or by allowing self attestation to join, and the legislature can and likely will adjust the law. Meanwhile, Colorado officials could put forward a non enforcement agreement. Now in Washington state, similar dynamics are in play. And in fact, the news may be a little more hopeful there. Initiative 638, which requires girls who want to play girls sports to get a statement from a healthcare provider verifying their sex, a requirement critics have worn could meet genital inspections, is passing 57 to 43 with plenty of the votes still out. Meanwhile, Initiative 1, the parents bill of Rights that could have resulted in the forced outing of trans youth is trailing and seems likely to fail. Initiative 638's apparent passage in a state that is otherwise very safe for transgender people has been cause for concern and consternation on an otherwise positive night. But the situation is somewhat bleaker in Arizona and Nebraska, both of which pass sports bans, with Arizona's sports ban also being a potential bathroom ban. Nebraska sports ban is a constitutional amendment and it bans transgender athletes from sports from kindergarten through college. Meanwhile, Arizona's ban not only bans transgender sports participation, but also restricts access to restrooms, locker rooms, shower rooms or other private spaces that are integral to athletic engagement. That integral to athletic engagement clause will be important in the state because, read narrowly as the legislature's own nonpartisan analysis reads it, the bathroom ban portion applies only to athletic spaces. There's no easy way to overturn this measure given the current makeup of the Arizona Supreme Court and a state law that restricts the legislature from repealing voter approved measures and allows changes only by 3/4 of the vote. But over time, it too could fall to court challenges should the courts make up shift Next up from the Texas Tribune less than 24 hours after an historic sweep of Texas's statewide elected offices by Democrats, the state's Attorney General elect Nathan Johnson said Tuesday he will not continue Ken Paxton's practice of suing doctors in other states for sending abortion medication to patients there. It's the first big salvo against the state's four year old near abortion ban, which makes the procedure virtually impossible to access in Texas and is likely to be the first of many tweaks to make the ban less rigid. The Attorney General's office under Ken Paxton, who gave up the role to run for Senate, has been a powerful enforcer of the state's abortion ban laws. And a Democrat coming into that position cuts off a powerful tool for the country's anti abortion movement. It is illegal for Texas doctors to mail abortion medication within the state and Paxton has sued doctors in other states who prescribe the medication and mail it in and that chills Texans from obtaining them. And that's according to abortion advocates. those lawsuits have run up against Blue State's so called shield laws that protect physicians who send abortion medications. Now Johnson said he will not be suing those out of state doctors anymore. Quote, I will not pursue the judicially absurd position that Texas law has extraterritorial effect. I can honor other states shield laws and from the Wall Street Journal I think the bubble has burst. Stocks fell sharply in broad based sell offs driven by investors fears about the UNW the year's most popular AI trades. This is a true panic, says Jay Hatfield, CEO at Infrastructure Capital Advisors. Quote this is 100% about the chip stocks and the potential slowdown in the AI trade. The Nasdaq composite index had 11 corrections in the past decade and five bear markets, according to Dow Jones Market Data. And following a correction which occurs when the index closes 10% or more below a recent peak, the tech heavy benchmark usually does quite well, averaging a 23% gain over the following 12 months. The less common bear market occurs when the index falls 20% or more from a recent peak. And at recent levels, Nasdaq's about 11% off its October 6th high. So we'll be keeping an eye on that. And from the independent US Secretary of State Marco Rubio is reportedly preparing to resign from Trump's cabinet to launch a bid for the 2028 Republican presidential nomination. Sources in Washington and the UK government expect Rubio to step down following disastrous midterm election results for Republicans who lost control of both the House and the Senate. Insiders suggest Rubio needs to distance himself from controversial policies like the war in Iran to improve his prospects against a key rival, Vice President J.D. vance, who's also distancing himself from Trump by and the war in Iran. Up to five cabinet members could leave the administration amidst public backlash over energy costs, foreign policy and potential impeachment proceedings by Democrats. The White House and the State Department strongly denied the reports, dismissing allegations of an impending departure as baseless. Which means it's definitely going to happen. And from the New York Times this is such an incredible story. Governor Gavin Newsom in California moved to spare the lives of all 548 prisoners on the state's death row on Thursday, in the largest mass commutation of death sentences in modern American history. Newsom said he made the decision because he finds capital punishment morally objectionable. He reduced every death sentence to life in prison without parole, a sweeping move that will require review by the state's highest court in some cases and could draw legal challenges. Quote state sanctioned killing is incompatible with California's values. It undermines the foundations of our legal system and diminishes each of us. That's what Newsom wrote in an open letter to California residents. He went on to say, I know we cannot execute people in our imperfect legal system and remain true to our core values, first among them justice and human decency. California's death row prisoners, by the way, make up about 25% of the number of them nationwide. And some great news from the Associated Press. The good news just keeps on coming. Russell Brand, the comic, which I put in heavy air quotes, who bragged for years about his sexual exploits, was convicted Thursday of raping one woman and sexually assaulting three others on allegations dating back years. The British actor comedian faces a significant prison term when he sentenced on Monday. Judge Joel Bennethan said that Brand has been free, but he was taken into custody after the judge rejected a bail request to let him see his kids because of the possibility he might flee. So he is behind bars and that is where he will stay. Quote, I regret the hardship caused to the children, of course, the judge said, but the hardship has been caused by serious criminal offending by their father. Brand was a ruthless, calculating, manipulative sexual predator. That's according to prosecutor Real Carmy Jones. He was convicted of one count of rape, three counts of sexual assault. He was acquitted of two rape counts and one count of attempted indecent assault. Brand closed his eyes as the guilty verdict on the rape count was read, but showed no emotion otherwise. When the bail was denied, he gestured to his lawyers that he was okay and repeatedly said, I'm good, I'm good, before being taken away. The jury of eight men and four women in Southwark Crown Court deliberated more than eight hours over two days after the verdicts. Police confirmed they have provided prosecutors with their investigation into 2m more rape allegations against Brand. All right, everybody, after all that news, we're going to talk to John Fugelsang and then we'll get to listener submitted good news. Stick around. We'll be right back

after these messages. We'll be right back.

It's Friday on the Daily Beans. That means it's fugl saying Friday. So joining me is my good friend, host of the John Fugal Sang show on Sirius XM Progress 127. You can hear that show weekdays at noon, right? Noon Eastern 9am Pacific. I love this new time slot for you. Also the host of the John Fugelsang show podcast, if that's how you'd rather listen. And he is also New York Times bestselling author of Separation of Church and Hate. He's got a new book available for order now, coming out soon. Fake A Biblically Correct Guide to Breaking the Grip of Holy Hypocrites, Gospel Grifters and Theocratic Thugs. Please welcome my friend John Fugal saying. Hey,

it's so nice hearing other people say that. Very long title. Thank you, Dr. Gill.

I've been working on it. I've been working on it. Adding it to the memo. The rote memorization of the production of John Fugal saying.

People can pronounce Fugal saying. I'm impressed. But being able to do all those syllables. My compliments. Thank you.

Thank you very much, my friend. So I know we don't have much to talk about today. It was kind of a slow week. Not much happened.

we had a complete route. This is not like we were hoping for a blue wave, maybe a blue tsunami. This was like a. This was like a cyclone. This was a political event that I think marks the extinction of maga, which has, you know, burrowed itself into the core of the Republican Party. And so therefore, I think possibly the end of this Republican Party as we know it. And I'd love to talk to you about some of these massive wins and what the implications are, but also what this means for Republic. What does the Republican Party even look like going forward? Sitting here trying to wrap my head around it, like. Like, it's just a bunch of, like the last guys left after last call, you know, that are just kind of milling around and

you

know what it

looks. No, it's going to be the most fervent devotees of Stockholm syndrome you've ever seen. combined with the guys who are trying to. Because you'll have. Half the Republican Party will just still be obedient to man baby. The other half is going to be exactly like the Republicans have always been, only thinking about themselves. So we get to watch JD Vance and Marco Rubio compete to see who can pretend they never went along with any of this stuff. More they. They're going to compete who has less charisma. We get to watch JD Vance and Marco Rubio try and fail for two years to tame the MAGA beast until they finally give up and become the vaginal dryness ticket of 2028. That's what. That's what we're looking at the rest of the Republican Party. Don't expect anything any different. It's all going to come down to how much will these Democrats put the them on the defense? Because as far as I'm concerned, as great as this week was, this is the beginning of the audition process for 2028, and the structural change begins now, which is going to be great. I just. We just heard Nithya Raman is going to be the new mayor of Los Angeles. I mean, this stuff keeps coming. Dr. Gill, I. I'm not. I'm not ready for this. I. I gave up on dopamine hits a long time ago, and now I'm not used to seeing all these miserable liberals all happy. I'm used to them screaming about socialism and fascism and now they're old. Is like calling my show and giddy. So I think it's great. In a world of Rolfs, we were the Captain Von Trapps this week and showed up. And this is the thing I love about this country. You know, America always, eventually one day finally does get around to doing the right thing. It takes a long time. We're like a drunk guy trying to parallel park. You know, we're going to hit a lot of things along the way, but we'll get there. And this week we got there. And I'm so happy that so many people get to experience this level of happiness this week. I think the nation's soul needed it.

We certainly do. And I hope we get a few weeks to enjoy it before we have to start worrying about 2028.

Oh, no, no, no. I woke up the next morning and I found, John Fetterman is irrelevant. And there's Bob Dylan with the Pope. It keeps getting better. And Today, Russell Brand. Dr. Gill, we just learned about Russell Brand. and I owe your listeners an apology. I said I would always admit when I'm wrong, and I said that Russell Brand would never make me laugh. And today it happened. So, there's just so much to be thankful for.

Congratulations on that front. One of the things that this election, this massive political earthquake did was it shored up the safety of our elections in 2028. We now have all swing states with Democratic governorships and a lot of Secretaries of State and attorneys general, meaning, we don't have to worry about not certifying results in 2028 and protecting the right to vote in these states. As we know, states administer their own elections. And so I feel like I'm breathing a giant sigh of relief for what happens in the 2028 election. I know it's a, couple years down the road, but that we have now put people in power that will protect the integrity of the election. And, and we now have enough blue states for the interstate vote Compact to abolish the Electoral College. You

read my mind. You read my mind. We had, Governor, Andy Beshear on the show, on election day and he of course is the chair of the Governor's Association. And this is going to be the big question now. You do have the stars aligned that you have enough Democratic governors that we could get rid of the Electoral College and have a democracy around here. So it's going to be one of the areas where the pressure is going to be on the Democratic Party to deliver. And of course this brings us back to the never ending story of the never ending civil war between moderate Dems and liberals. Or as I call it, screw you for only agreeing with me on 85% of shit. And, I'm excited to see what the progressive, caucus does in the House because Premia Jayapal has already said, they're gonna bring the Medicare for All bill to the floor for a vote as soon as possible because they're gonna wanna get every member of the Democratic House to go on the record, regardless of what insurance company gives you money. They're gonna wanna know two years before a convention, where do we stand on Medicare for All? We're finally at the place where for the first time polls are showing Medicare for All is more popular than what we're doing right now. So we should look for the progressives to try to force a lot of votes to get people on dice, including about AI in the data centers. There's going to be a lot of pressure put on and we're going to really see, how serious this Democratic leadership is. obviously I'm not in the I, hate Hakeem Jeffries camp as so many people. And I, I want him to be more progressive. I want him to pull off the mask and, and, and, you know, be much more daring underneath. I appreciate that he's pragmatic. I know that he and Schumer deserve a lot of credit for all of this. I do think Schumer's gonna be stepping aside. I don't think he's gonna wanna.

I was gonna ask you about that.

Run this in his 80s

because we've now got El Sayed, Peggy Flanagan, Van Hollen, A lot of senators calling for at least a push to get promises from Schumer or to step aside. I Think Hakeem stays.

I think he does, too.

I would prefer a different House leader, but I think Hakeem stays. But I think we have a real shot. I mean, you know, I think Cory Booker said, we're gonna have a family chat about Chuck Schumer, when asked about Chuck Schumer, because he can really do the thing here where he says, I helped with this, and now I am passing the torch. And I think that that's how he saves, you know, or preserves any, you know, the legacy. Right. So I think he's gonna be having a lot of tough conversations.

I first voted for Chuck Schumer in 1998, and it was one of the happiest moments of the decade when I voted Al d' Amato out of that office. So, you know, I think Schumer doesn't want to keep on doing this in his 80s. He knows what people think of him and his leadership. And let's just look at what happened with Haley Stevens this week. Who, Who, Who? I mean, before she's completely forgotten and goes to Grand Platinum Ryland.

We'll all forget that name soon, I think. I

know we will. But, I mean. I mean, the Democratic establishment were the ones telling us that we had to get behind her because she was the stable one. She was the electable one. She was the one who wouldn't embarrass us. We don't know about this guy. El sayed, go with the safe, electable choice. And, boy, she went out of her way to prove how wrong that establishment was this week. Likewise. I'm hearing so much about AOC running for president. I think AOC is gonna be running for Chuck Schumer's Senate seat before anything like that happens. And I think he knows it. So I think we will see a graceful transitioning of him. But let's keep in mind, he's gonna wanna save face. He is the highest ranking Jewish politician in the history of our country. He's been incred. He doesn't get enough credit for his fundraising abilities. That's what he brings to the table. And, I think he's gonna be able to read the room. I do. But we will probably see a battle, for speaker, but I don't think it's gonna get to the level of, you know, kneecapping Kevin McCarthy. I. I think it's gonna be, probably, if we can get the Democrats to just play nice with each other a couple more months like they did up till Election Day, then, they can start fighting each other after January First. But, I mean, it's such an incredible time to see all the firsts. And I know your listeners, all are well aware of all the firsts. But I mean, how proud are you of this country that all these white folks in Michigan sending this Muslim doctor, that we have the first native senator, the first indigenous woman governor? I mean, that we have the first black woman governor of any State in 250 years. Keisha Lance Bottoms traced her lineage back to the plantation where her ancestors were owned, and now she's the governor. And we owe Donald Trump, I think, a lot more credit than he's gotten, Dr. Gill, for all he did to turn the Senate blue. I don't think he's been given nearly enough credit. If you look at all the races he had to interfere with, he just had to get meddled up with. Right.

Did you see that? The places that he did rallies that, like those senators lost by five additional points in the places he showed up to campaign?

I mean, did you see that all of this gerrymandering that we've spent the last year and a half screaming about backfired on all of them. It's just poured for the angels all over the place. But look at so many of these races. Ohio, this, happened because he pulled J.D. vance out and DeWine appointed Houston, and Trump likes Houston's ass, and the rest is history. And because of Trump's choice, we got Sherrod Brown back. Look at Georgia. He was at war with Brian Kemp and made him known how much he hated Governor Brian Kemp. Cause Brian Kemp wouldn't break the law for him in 2020. So Kemp didn't run for governor. And the guy Kemp endorsed a guy, but Trump endorsed. What's his name, who Ossoff just beat the other day. I've already forgotten his name.

Collins. Yeah,

Collins. Look at all of these states where Donald Trump had to get involved and had to meddle. And in all of those states, you can see right away that his meddling led to a Democratic victory. He is the reason there were so many unelectable GOP candidates. And I really want to see him get more credit for it than he's gotten.

Yeah. And, you know, credit where credit is due for Schumer. He is the one who, heavily recruited Cooper and Brown. That's right. In Ohio. but, you know, I wish there was more done for Angie, Nixon. I sure do

as well.

You know,

wish there was more

money for her as well. I think she's going to run because that was a special election. I think she's going to run again.

Yeah, I think she will. And, we'll see how she does. I mean, she did an amazing campaign, considering how long it took for Chuck Schumer to sit down and meet with her. And, you know, who knows if she could have gotten more money. But Florida went the way it went. We shouldn't be too surprised. Texas is just a beautiful surprise. It's gonna take a lot of pain out. And look, I'm as embarrassed as a sentient being over Byron Donalds as the rest of you, but we got some comedy, folks. We get to watch Byron Donald step on Rakes for the next couple of years and embarrass everyone.

Yeah, very, very true. The last thing I think we should talk about, as the investigations that are gearing up in the House and the Senate, I mean, we got, what, 148 gavels total, across both chambers. Ah, I know. Raskin is like, I'm totally for a third

impeachment of Trump.

Huh? He's hiring. So is the Department of Homeland Security, chair, the Homeland Security Council. Committee chair, Hassan. Right. She's hiring. They're hiring investigators, and lots of them.

Yes.

And we're talking going after the law firms that capitulated to Trump. We're talking about

going

after corporations that capitulated to Trump. We're talking about Elon Musk. They're talking about impeachment of folks like Hegseth. We're looking at a discharge petition in the House as soon as they get back during the lame duck session for the Epstein files. Transparency Act 2.0. So it's all sort of like this prep, I think, is, I think, very encouraging for people who wanted to see fighters, I think this is very encouraging.

They're giving the people what they want. And, boy, Elon Musk picked a great time to become a Texas resident, didn't he? With a Texas attorney General. I'm

moving everything to Texas because California is too woke. Every statewide election in Texas went blue.

That nasty little apartheid elf is deleting all of his tweets from the past year. I mean, it's just beautiful to see it. And. And it's going to be interesting seeing how much the Democrats, if they have the stomach to actually push forward on Epstein. Because between that and data centers, we've talked about it. These are areas where you can get a lot of conservatives on your side. But just the matter of serving justice, I mean, we've said for so long after January 1st, it's when the Constitution is back. And the best part about the Democrats controlling the legislative branch is that we're going to have a legislative branch again. You know, besides the investigations. this is it for, For. For war. I mean, this is it for the Iran war. Like, once again, Congress will be in charge of the funding, and it's going to be a lot harder for Donald Trump to executive order his way around the law when the law is back in session. So it's going to be great for C span. I can't wait to watch all of it. And, and it's just so beautiful seeing how all the distractions failed. You know, like, Donald Trump's greatest gift in life is that he's so good at misdirects and getting the media every. He's like a. He's like a tennis ball machine, and every yellow ball he spits out. The media are like dogs that have to chase down every single one. And we suffer the communism and the reflecting pool and the sex changes at schools and John Husted's ass and Lake America and the. The ballroom. I mean, the ball. The people are starving. And he's like, let him eat, Marvel. so when we're looking at this, it's like owning the libs was all they've had for so long. We've talked about it. Own the libs is the one thing that unites all the members of this coalition, and you can own every lib in America. And the rent is still due on the first. You know, gas prices don't care how many libs you owned today. So I'm with you on the investigation. You

can't pay for cookies with liberal tears. Am I right, Ed? Sorry, I'm quoting Edward Scissorhand Hands.

And it's always been, you know,

injecting the liberal tears part into it. Of course,

you know, talking about communists, well, that distracts from the oligarchs that they protect. Right. And, and, and, you know, attacking Ukraine distracts from the fact that they're protecting this dictator, Putin and his invasion and all the transphobia distracts from how they're actually protecting real predators. And the distractions have stopped working. I would have liked it it if decency had moved so many white Americans. It turns out inconvenience was what it took, but, man, they did it. And it's really nice to be proud of this country this week.

Yeah, same, same, my friend. It's a. It's a new and interesting feeling that I haven't had since 2020. So I'm very much looking forward

I mean, the Epstein files are not going to disappear because somebody renamed a lake, you know, And

I think all of our five Calls apps are going to start to get a workout. As you know, we've now elected a majority Democratic Congress, and now we can and ask them to do the things that we want them to do. So if you don't have that 5 calls app, I highly recommend getting it, because now's the time. And also your state and local governments, especially in those five or six states that picked up the trifecta this time around. But, you know, and then we broke super majorities in a lot of deep red areas. It's just really, incredible. And I still don't think I have my head around the implications of this kind of political event.

Nor do I. I'll tell you that after so many years of catching myself saying, oh, I'm glad my parents aren't alive to see this, to spend a whole week saying, I wish my parents were alive to see this is a gift that America gave me.

Nice. I'm glad. My friend, thank you so much always for, for joining us every Friday. I actually

stole that from the Joe Rogan show. I hope it's okay. I just ripped

it

off completely wholesale. But,

yeah, I'm surprised you bothered to give credit. Alison,

can I just say, on behalf of all your listeners, thank you. And I know you get a lot of this, but you have talked so many people off ledges, including those of us who talk people off ledges for a living. And I just want to thank you for inspiring and entertaining and, keeping people focused. Seriously, every one of these shows I do on the road and meet and greets, people love you so much. My audiences all love you. And, honestly, you are such a patriot. And thank you for making so many of us proud to be Americans.

Thank you. Well, I mean, it's a big week for, like, Hopium, Grifting, Blue Anon, you know, whatever they call me, Shit Libs or whatever. Whatever they call us. So high five, to everybody, but thank, thank you, my friend and everybody. You need to check out the John Fugelsang Show. It's, every weekday at Noon Eastern on SiriusXM progress channel 127. Catch a photo, pay your pod pet tax. It can be your pet or literally a photo of anything else. Really. We've just expanded it to include everything and anything as long as it brings a smile to our face. Dailybeanspod.com click on Contact. First up is your good trouble. Your good trouble today is to take a day off of good trouble. Rest, recharge. There's more to do, but take some time to enjoy this victory. We have links in the show notes to help cure ballots. If you would like to donate a few hours of your time this weekend. But seriously, take some time off. Enjoy this. We only got about three hours of happiness after we flipped the Senate in 2020, 2021 on January 5th, because of the next day. So really stretch this feeling out. I don't know if we're gonna have an election like this, this kind of blowout for a long time, but, you know, rest, enjoy. That is your good trouble homework. First up in the good news for Marianne pronoun, she and her AJ and dg. Just a quick pronunciation clarification. You said it multiple ways today. My new and first openly gay male senator from the beautiful state of New Hampshire is Chris Pappas. Pap, rhymes with cap. I have a feeling you'll be saying his name a lot in the years to come. Chris Pappas. Anyway, congratulations to him and all the other first time record breaking winners and to all of us who've been fighting the good fight in so many ways these past few years. We did it. I'm waking up with a smile and such a sense of hope this week for my pod pet tax. I give you a furry friend I made a few weeks ago during a trip to one of New Hampshire's incredible state parks. Love to you all. Thank you Marianne. And this is a lovely little squirrel eating something. I love squirrels. They're so cute. All right, next up, Devin pronouns they and he. Greetings regal queens of the Beans. I'd like to start my message today with a fun self shout out and end on a more serious note. Remember that horror shorts song you featured a couple weeks back on Beans Talk? Well, it was stuck in my head all weekend after the episode and that weekend happened to be Orlando's Coming Out With Pride festival. It was a beautiful day until some assholes snuck their way into the festival and started shouting their religious just bullshit loudly to the crowd. So me being me and the song stuck in my head. I created a diversion so that the crowd didn't have to hear any of their hate mongering. I strutted in front of them with my girlfriend's clap fan loudly announcing they don't have to pay any attention to the haters. We're so much more fun than them anyways. We're beautiful. Don't look at them, look at me dancing in my horror shorts. I could scare bigots in my horse shorts and as I strutted in my 5 inch platform boots, blocking the crowd from viewing them m my girlfriend ran to me and kissed me deeply, dipping me backwards to make a show of it right in front of the haters. They left fairly quickly after the cheers from the crowd at our display of, perseverance and love. Devin High fuckin five. Now, in the spirit of pride, I have a big ask. Don't stop fighting. Just because we had our big blue wave doesn't mean the fight is over. Especially not for us trans folks. Several Dems won on anti trans platforms and that chills me to the bone. Hearing the cheers to the winds of transphobic Dems terrifies me. We must fight them on their transphobic statements before they have a chance to do any more harm to trans community. Don't let them normalize the dehumanization of trans folks across the political spectrum. Protest. Call them out. Let them know we will not stand for compromise to Nazi propaganda. Not for sports, not for referring to us in ways that are derogatory and especially not our health care. In states that have transphobic laws, fight for them to be overturned. Do not let Democrats leave these policies in place. Most of all, don't forget the transmasc non binary folks and trans men in your advocacy. The policies that affect CIS women's bodies affect all women. They're ours too. Please remember to include us when referring to abortion and birth control. Access allies. Don't get complacent. The fight is far from over. Trans liberation now. You're wonderful and you are loved. Yours in pride. Still dancing in my horse shorts. Devin. Well, well said Devin. Thank you so much for that. Look at that beautiful photo. Thank you so much. Next up, celebrating in Mexico. Hello. Thanks to you and your amazing team for all you do. I know this must be an oversight everywhere, but I just wanted to point out that Ilhan Omar won her reelection by a whopping 76.48% power to the people. Attached is a photo of me wearing a shirt I bought in 2024. Thank you. Celebrating in Mexico. Beautiful kitty picture too. And I just want to say there are about 10,000amazing things that happened on Tuesday, Wednesday and that are going to continue to happen. if we missed something or just didn't have time to get to it, it send it to us like this. This is fantastic. All right, next up from Ashley. She and her Greetings, O ye purveyors of the most righteously uncouth public notices. Call this a combo self shout out and good trouble. I guess. A few months ago I started writing a sub stack where I use experiences from my own nearly four decades of life in this world as a trans girl to illustrate for my sisters and brothers why the many and varied pains and problems they face, especially in this recent hostile environment, are going to be okay. I'm writing in to ask the luguminati for hoping that maybe some of the thousands of beautiful Beans Brigade people might peruse some of my pieces and give me constructive criticism in order to improve the way I go about getting my message across. This is the only community I'm part of that I can really trust to give me critiques without cruelty. Ashley, thank you for saying that I don't restrict access to anything because the object is to make it freely available to those who may need it. So nobody even has to do a free subscription to read any of my stuff. And of course be unbelievably honored if either AG or DG were to offer pointers as you two are the best communicators I know, but I'm well aware of how busy you are. For my pawpet, Tara, I present His Highness Bruno Sir Fuzzbutt the First trying to dance with me instead of doing his lapdog routine. For reference on his size, I'm just short of 6 foot 3 now after a stratiol gifted me with the loss of a couple of inches. haha. Thanks for doing both what you do and for being who you are. You help me feel safer in the world. Thank you for that. And we're going to have a link to Ashley's substack in the show notes, so go check it out, leave a comment, and have some constructive feedback on Ashley's substack. Look at this sweet baby dog. Thank you for those photos. Next up from Anonymous. She and her High Beans Queens. I want to give a shout out to the amazing Ana Aho Rink today. She just flipped the seat for the Michigan house in the 109th district in the Upper Peninsula. She's a yooper away from former weatherman and climate change denier Republican Carl Bonak. Boo. She was a healthcare provider at the only Planned Parenthood clinic in the up until it was closed in 2025 due to the Trump administration's defunding legislation. While we are all still bitterly mourning the loss of such an important healthcare facility, the silver lining is that its closure pushed Anna to run on the platform of access to healthcare. She is the first board certified PA elected to the Michigan House of Representatives. I know she will fight hard for our health care access and our schools and for protecting the Great Lakes. I saw her speak shortly after the midterms when Senator Abdul Al Said came to town and she was just as uplifting and inspiring as he was. I can't wait to see what she does for our district. For my POD pet tariff, I have Gordy since he's half blank. For Halloween he dressed up as a full beagle Bee as a bee beagle. Thank you for reflecting my hope and joy during this absolutely amazing blue tsunami. You are the best. And I'm assuming he's half beagle because the beagle comment and a wonderful Ana Aho rink photo as well. So many physicians and scientists elected. I love it. Next up, Kira pronoun she and they hey all, my mom's Birthday is Sunday, November 8th and I wanted to give her a shout out. Her name is Mandy. She's been a listener since 2020 and me since 2020. 2. We even went to the DC meetup together. She shouted me out in 2024 for my 20th birthday when I was still in my undergrad. I'm doing a PhD now. Congratulations, Kira in political Science. And she's been one of my biggest cheerleaders to get here. When I was a kid, I watched her complete a master's degree at our kitchen table while raising me and working full time. She's always been an inspiration to me, endlessly loving and caring, supportive through all of my ups and downs, even when I was difficult. She's the best mom I could ever ask for. I love you, mom. Happy birthday. P.S. for pod tax, I have attached a picture of Bentley the Blank and Martin the cat. Mandy, big shout out to you from Kira. And this is obviously a corgi. Yeah. Adorable. little chunky baby. Oh, and look at the sweet kitty and all the stuffies. I love it. Kira. Thank you, everyone. Thank you. Thank you for sending in all of your good news. Please continue to flood the zone. We just. I'm just, like, overflowing with good news and happiness. And, I know you all are too. like I said, Dana will be back Monday. I'll be doing the breakdown on Midas this weekend. I'll be doing Unjustified with Andy on Sunday. Thanks to John Fugelsang for joining us today. Dana will be back on Monday and I'll see you over on Beans Talk. We're going to talk about impeaching Pete Hegseth. It looks like it could happen before the new Congress comes in January 3rd. So we'll see you there. And, we'll see you back here on Monday. Until then, please take care of yourselves, take care of each other, take care of the planet, take care of your mental health, take care of your family. I've been ag. And them's the beans.
