Um. MSW Media Media. Hello, and welcome to the Daily beans for Monday, September 8, 2025. Today, the Department of Justice says the names of two associates Epstein wired $100,000 and $250,000 to should stay a secret to honor their privacy. Trump claims the power to summarily kill suspected drug smugglers. Hundreds of South Korean nationals are detained and put in leg irons and chains in the largest single site ICE raid in history. The Pentagon has approved the use of Great Lakes Navy Base for Chicago ICE operations. A court panel stops the shutdown of the Florida concentration camp. A federal judge has blocked Trump's efforts to end protections for 1.1 million Venezuelans and Haitians. CBS bends the knee and agrees not to edit Face the Nation interviews. The U.S. tennis association asked broadcasters to censor crowds booing Donald Trump. The Navy restored Ronny Jackson's rank. And Texas Democrat James Talarico will launch his bid for Senate this week. I'm Alison Gill.
And I'm Dana Goldberg.
Hey, everybody. Happy Monday. And if I'm mispronouncing, uh, James Talarico's name, write in and let us know. How are you, Dana? Did you have a restful weekend?
I did. I had a wonderful gig. Um, I believe it was. Now, I'm not even sure. Friday night, um, for the Los Angeles Reproductive Guild with Kathy Griffin and Kathy Ladman. Rita Rudner. Can we talk about Rita Rudner just for a second? The brilliance that this woman is, that has carried through decades of a career. She is just still so charming and sharp and hilarious, and to share a stage with her and Kathy and Stephanie Miller was there. I mean, all of these women that are just iconic comedians in this industry, to be there with them that night. And then, uh, I don't mean to brag, but I had a very good showing as well. I had a very great set, and then I raised a bunch of money for abortion rights. So it was just a fun night at work. It was a good night at work.
Oh, uh, incredible. Adding to your, what, 70, $80 million total every day?
I'm trying to add more fundraising for.
All of these important causes. Thank you so much, my friend. I wish I could have been there. What an incredible lineup. Just women, giants in the industry who have. Whose shoulders we stand on, Right?
Kathy is just. Kathy Griffin is just a mensch. I mean, for those of us that have been able to be in her orbit, like her actual personal orbit, where she doesn't have to be the comedian, she just gets to be Kathy. She's just a phenomenal human being. And I love her honesty and her vulnerability. I love that her new tour is called New Face, New Tour. Like, she just owns who she is. And she looks fucking great.
Yeah, she is fantastic. And it's been an honor. I've spent some time. I know we watched some of the debates and stuff and some of the January 6th hearings up at her place, and she's just truly, truly incredible. So I'm so glad that you got to do that and raise some money for a good cause. I have an announcement, big announcement. MSW Media, my podcast network is partnering with Midas Touch.
Hell yeah.
Yeah. And I am doing a new weekly live podcast.
Of course you are on the Midas.
Touch Network because, oh, my God, I don't have enough to do with my time now.
What a team.
Yeah, it's. It was, it's time I went down the audio path, they went down the video path. And I'm like, I need to do video. And I'm like, well, you know, who do you, who, who are you going to call when you want to do a video pod? You call the Midas guys.
Hell yeah.
And so, um, very proud. That show is aired live Sunday afternoon. You can catch it on my substack or the Midas Touch Network substack or on YouTube channel. It's kind of everywhere by the time you get this. And I'm, I'm very proud of what I was able to do and, uh, had to take the foray into video. I, I don't like video. But you have to. We have to.
Things change. You got to keep up with it.
I got to keep up and I'm. But I'm not going to wear makeup. I swear to God, I'm not going to do it. I'm not going to pay a glam tax. And yes, Katie Fang and I shop at the same optometrist. We have the same classes. You have that question. Uh, but I'm just very grateful to be able to do this partnership and put out yet another podcast patrons. By the way, usually you get a weekly wrap up bonus episode. You're going to be getting that audio from that podcast a couple of days early and in your inbox for patrons. That's what. That's how I'm kind of balancing my time. Nice. We're going to replace that weekly wrap up with this show, which I hope that you very, uh, much enjoy ad free and early. Also later in the show, we're going to have a Flip It Blue segment with. We're trying to get Darryl Issa out of Congress, Richest member of Congress. And Amar Campa Najjar is running against him in California's 48th. So we're going to talk to him.
Fantastic.
And, ugh. Uh, the Navy is right. The Navy gave pill mill drunk face McFuckerstein Ronny Jackson his rank back. Remember when he lost rank?
Yeah. It's so gross. This is what the Post actually said. It said the U.S. navy restored the retired rank of Rep. Ronnie. And he's that Republican in Texas. They're saying, obviously he's a former White House physician, but he's the pill guy. He's the candyman. And he's an ally of President Trump. And that is a reversing a Biden era decision to demote the guy from rear admiral to captain after a report upheld misconduct allegations against him. It upheld the misconduct allegations. And apparently that's a reason for you to get promoted in this administration.
He was assaulting women. He was drunk on the job. He was taken, you know, fistfuls of pills and booze and just, oh, uh.
My God, he sounds like Timu Hegseth. What the fuck?
Yeah, yeah, he. Yeah, that's a really good way to put it. But he doesn't deserve that rank back. And, um, maybe. Maybe we get the White House back.
This is what pisses me off.
You've got transgender on the list of shit to do.
Yeah. You got transgender Americans that are serving this country admirably. For 19 years, 60 combat missions have never gotten any sort of a, um, mark against them getting dishonorably discharged and losing their retirement. But this, this is what pisses me off.
Yeah, absolutely. 100%. It's that dude. Anyway. All right, I just had to rant for a second. We're going to talk more about this.
We need a that dude segment. Just what this is. That dude.
Those dudes, my friend, did a really nice needle point that just says those dudes perfect. And, uh, I think we have to. Maybe we'll do a segment. We'll. We'll figure out a jingle or something. I'll call they Might be giants. Hey, can you make me a those Dudes jingle? Perfect. Uh, those dudes. That's all it is. It's just, you know, three notes. All right, everybody, we have a lot of news to get to today. Let's hit the hot notes. Hot notes. All right, first up from NBC, the Justice Department, Pam Bondi. Donald Trump's Justice Department on Friday asked a federal judge overseeing the case of deceased sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein. Thank you for saying that and not financier. They asked the court to deny a request from NBC News to unseal the names of two associates who received very large payments from him from Epstein in 2018. According to court documents, the Justice Department cited privacy concerns expressed by the two individuals, the two, you know, co conspirating sex traffickers, as the reason for not making their names public. They deserve their privacy. The first associate received $100,000 from Epstein and the second got 250,000. I remember we reported this. Well, Julie K. Brown did. And we reported what Julie K. Brown said. That was back in 2018, days after the Miami Herald began publishing a series of investigative stories where victims criticized a plea deal that Epstein received in Florida in 2008. So again, that's Julie K. Brown from the Miami Herald. Incredible series. Prosecutors wrote that on November 30, 2018, Epstein wired $100,000 from a trust account he controlled to an individual named, redacted, a potential co conspirator and for whom Epstein obtained protection in the non prosecution agreement. Remember how the non prosecution agreement, Dershowitz wrote that was given to Acosta, who later became Trump's Labor Secretary, promised, um, not to prosecute any of the people on the client list.
No, Alison, I know that they orchestrated this last election to make that he got in so that he could avoid prison. More and more, what I'm finding out through stories like this, and knowing that there's emails now between Bibi and Peter Thiel, like I'm wondering if they got him in so that they, they wanted just to kill this Epstein thing.
They thought that they were going to.
Bury it to protect all of these motherfuckers. Mhm. Unbelievable.
It's quite possible. That's why, you know, I always say the oligarchy, the ruling class and what the Supreme Court is doing to us is inextricably linked with the Epstein files.
Yep. Absolutely.
It is not a distraction from the other. They are the same thing. Yeah, yeah. Now, prosecutors also wrote that the individual was also named and featured prominently in the Miami Herald series. NBC has until September 12th to respond to the Justice Department's request that the names remain secret. We'll keep an eye on that for you.
We sure will. This next story is from the Post. The Pentagon has approved the use of a Navy base on the outskirts of Chicago as a staging ground from which the Trump administration can launch operations against undocumented immigrants. This is from two defense officials familiar with this issue. Naval Station Great Lakes will serve as a hub in upcoming operations overseen by the Department of Homeland Security. This is from the officials, and they, of course, spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the issue. Now, it could also potentially be used as a place to house National Guard or active duty service members if Trump orders a surge of US Troops into Chicago, as he did this summer, into Los Angeles and Washington, D.C. so we'll keep you covered on this story and let you know what happens there.
Yeah, and the Post makes it sound like, uh, Naval Station Great Lakes is some obscure outskirts thing. It is a massive naval installation. It's where everybody born this century has gone to boot camp, including some of us who went in the 1900s. Um. Oh, that's my new thing for, you know, when anything that happened before, it's so long ago. 2000. Yeah. Back when I was in the Navy in the 1900s, that's where I went to boot camp. It's massive. It's a massive installation. And, you know, for him, what's interesting is if he doesn't federalize the Guard, which is a kind of a violation of the Posse Comitatus act, as they ruled in California, if he doesn't federalize them and wants to send, like, Texas National Guard to Great Lakes, they won't be allowed to leave the base. So we'll see what they.
We'll see what they do, we'll see.
What they end up doing. But that this is anybody who's in the Navy or was in the Navy who is this is just heartbreaking.
Yeah.
For Great Lakes to be used, it's.
Just a waste of our tax money and a waste of their skills as military people.
Yeah. And to have it be used, uh, to stage this authoritarian bullshit, takeover and ethnic cleansing of brown people in the United States is fucking disgusting. In a related story, though, from the Associated Press, a federal appeals court panel on Thursday put on hold a lower court's order to end operations indefinitely at Alligator Alcatraz, which, you know, the Florida concentration camp in the Everglades. This three judge panel in Atlanta decided by a 2 to 1 vote to stay the federal judge's order pending the outcome of an appeal, saying it's in the public interest. The ruling will allow the facility to continue holding detainees for the time being. And again, we'll keep an eye on this case for you as it winds its way through the courts. As you know, they shut it down because it was an environmental hazard then.
Yep.
They never asked. They didn't have a comment period or anything. They just went in and bulldozed their way in and built this thing in the Everglades. So we'll keep an eye.
All right, thanks, A.G. this next story is from NBC. Federal and immigration agents arrested 475 people while executing a judicial search warrant at a Hyundai facility in Georgia as part of a criminal investigation into allegations of unlawful employment practices. According to the warrant, authorities were looking for four individuals, but the reasons why the federal government was specifically interested in them, it remains under seal. They were looking for four people, and 475 people got arrested.
Yeah. And they put these folks in chains and leg irons and marched them into buses and took all of their belongings and were throwing them in bags outside of the buses. It was horrific to watch.
It's disgusting.
Largest single site raid in history and of an ally, South Korea.
Yep.
Uh, just unbelievable and disgusting. But in some better immigration news today from the Associated Press, a federal judge on Friday blocked the Trump administration from ending temporary legal protections TPS for more than a million people from Haiti and Venezuela who have the right to live and work in the United States. This ruling by U. S. District Judge Edward Chen of San Francisco for the plaintiffs means 600, 000 Venezuelans whose temporary protections expired in April or whose protections were about to expire on September 10, have status now to stay and work in the United States, but also keeps protections for about 500, 000 Haitians. Of course, the uncertainty is the. Is what's awful about this. Yeah, like dreamers, right? Like, what is my status? What's going to happen? So this is blocked temporarily. Chen scolded Homeland security Secretary Kristi Noem for revoking protections for Venezuelans and Haitians that the judge said would send them, quote, back to conditions that are so dangerous that even the state department advises against travel to their home countries. He said Noem's actions were arbitrary and capricious, and she exceeded her authority in ending protections that were extended by the Biden administration.
Uh, all right, A.G. thanks so much. This one's from the Times. And, um, there is a content warning because this is a horrific story. By ordering the US Military to summarily kill a group of people aboard what he said was a drug smuggling boat, Trump used the military in a way that had no clear legal precedent or basis. And this is according to specialists in the laws of war and executive power. Mr. Trump is claiming the power to shift maritime counter drug efforts from law enforcement rules to wartime rules. The police arrest criminal suspects for prosecution and cannot instead simply gun suspects down, except in very rare circumstances where they pose an imminent threat to someone. This is not what was happening here? By contrast, in armed conflicts, troops can lawfully kill enemy combatants on sight. This wasn't an armed conflict because killing people is so extreme and doing it without due process risks killing the wrong people by mistake. The question of which rules apply is not simply a matter of just policy choice. You can't just fucking pick depending on if you want to kill these people without, you know, with impunity. Now, domestic and international law both set standards constraining when presidents and nations can lawfully use wartime force. After breaking new ground by labeling drug cartels as, quote, terrorists, the President is now redefining the peacetime criminal problem of drug trafficking as an armed conflict and telling the US military to treat even suspected low level drug smugglers as combatants. Which means even low level, if they see them as that, they can just fucking shoot them on sight.
Yeah, and I think this is pretext for a lot of different things. And I talk about that. Well, I'm gonna, I'm gonna talk about it. It's time travel. Time travel, folks. I'm gonna talk about it. And you can see it now on my video podcast that, ah, that came out yesterday. This is just horrific and absolutely illegal. So we'll see what happens. All right? And another related story from cbs. For the second time in two days, Venezuela has flown military aircraft in the vicinity of the USS Jason Dunham in international waters near South America, according to multiple Defense Department officials who confirmed this to CBS News on Friday, describing the action as turning into a game of chicken. The aircraft, which one Defense Department official said were F16 fighter jets, flew over the Durham sometime overnight Thursday. It was unknown if the aircraft was armed. The Dunham and Aegis guided missile destroyer did not engage. According to the officials, the aircraft was within weapons range for both the aircraft and the ship. Now this comes after CBS reported Thursday that two F16 fighter jets also flew over the Dunham earlier that day. The Pentagon later confirmed the incident, describing in a statement a highly provocative move that was designed to interfere with our counter narco terror operations. So this is Wag the Dog is what this is. The Dunham is among a flotilla of U.S. warships dispatched to the region in recent weeks that the Pentagon says has been deployed to target criminal organizations and narco terrorism. And you know, Dana, the fact that Trump called the people aboard the boat, which was probably on its way to Trinidad Tobago, not the United States, he called them 11 members of trend Aragua, which is.
With no proof.
No, there's not even any proof there were drugs in there. There were 11 people that seems like migrants. You don't take up room in a boat with bodies if you're smuggling drugs. You got like two or three guys that. And so the fact that he's trying to peg this on Trenda Aragua makes it sound to me like he's using this as a pretext to say there is an incursion or a predatory incursion or invasion against the United States territory so that he can invoke the Alien Enemies act that the courts are about to tell him he can't. So that's what this feels like to me.
Okay, I'm going to shift a little bit over. This is to the corporate media news world. Um, it's from Variety. CBS News apparently is giving up the power it has to hold and I quote, Face the Nation interviews to account. Okay, these interviewees. The Paramount Skydance news unit said Friday it would cease editing taped interviews with newsmakers who appear on Face the Nation following complaints from Trump and his administration over an appearance on the show earlier this week. When U.S. homeland Secretary Kristi Noem made a number of false or unproven statements about Kilmar Abrego Garcia, that's as we know, the man who was deported despite his having protected legal status in the United States. And everyone admitted it was a mistake, although that person got fired. CBS News offered just a portion of, uh, the overall interview with Noem and made the full exchange available online. Well, CBS's news that move, it's an unorthodox one, potentially leaving show moderators and producers unable to remove false statements or propaganda uttered by political operatives and officials and undermining the authority and credibility of Margaret Brennan, that's the moderator of the Sunday public affairs program. So if you can't edit, these people can say whatever the fuck they want. And then the people who are watching are like, well, I guess that must be true now. The edict is also risky, potentially giving viewers the sense that Brennan is less able to question or chall guests. One of the main elements to that show, that Sunday political show, that that's what brings the viewers to them in the first place. People want to see that pushback. The decision may even spur viewers to just leave Face the Nation altogether. And it's one of the most viewed among the so called Sunday shows and sample rivals such as NBC's News Meet the Press and ABC's News this Week. Those news aficionados, they've given up subscriptions to mainstream publications like the Washington Post in recent months when they are perceived to cede authority or placate those in power.
Mhm. That's why we love independent media. And you know, if the journalists were able to push back on the lies rather than edit them out, maybe that would help.
Yeah, it's one or the other. You don't. You know what I mean?
Come on. Yeah, push back, say that's a lie, say it to their face and then.
Say, oh, which seven wars did he end?
You told me not to edit it. Uh, yeah, but you called him a piece of shit fuckface. I was like, oh, well, yeah, but you told me I couldn't edit it.
Yep.
Jesus Christ. Uh, and get this. This is from the Athletic. The United States Tennis association told broadcasters of the U.S. open to censor any booing or reaction to Trump's appearance at the men's singles final Sunday.
This is North Korea. Shit.
I know. That's according to a memo reviewed by the Athletic on Sunday. The memo was first reported by the tennis reporter Ben Rothenberg. Now that's different. That's not Ben Roethlisberger and it's not Ben Raffensperger. It's Ben Rothenberg. He writes for Bounces, which is a tennis reporting like publication. According to the memo, Trump will be shown on feeds from the tournament during the pre match ceremony, which includes the presentation of the US national anthem ahead of the final between Sinner and Alcaraz. Am I saying that right?
Yes. And Alcaraz, as we're reading this, won. It was an incredible match. I hope that you all watched it. It was a great US Open. But Alcaraz did win.
Good. Wonderful.
Cinner's amazing though. So it was two incredible boys.
Yeah, I know. Charlotte was hoping for Cinner because Pope Leo wanted to meet him and she said it would be funny for the Pope to meet Sinner.
That would be funny. Also Trump's face, they showed it and I tried to avoid it, but they showed it one time after Alcaraz won. And he looked really disappointed that the Brown kid won. I'm not gonna lie.
Oh, my God.
Well, I'm sure he's a big Sinner fan. He probably doesn't even know how tennis is scored anyway.
Keep going. Yeah, he got booed. Quote, we ask all broadcasters to refrain from showcasing any disruptions or reactions in response to the President's attendance in any capacity. That's what the US Tennis association said in a memo.
Boo.
Well, we have some audio of him getting booed and we don't bend the knee, so here it is.
I mean, let's listen. Um, there was a lot of Booze. What grosses me out is that there are also cheers. People raising their fists because there's a lot of rich ass people in that stadium.
Huh?
That probably voted for him. All right, I, uh, do have some good news. This is from CBS Texas. Democratic state Rep. James Talarico is set to announce a Senate bid in next year's midterm elections on Tuesday, according to sources familiar with the plans. Okay.
Um.
The news was first reported by Politico. Talarico has served in the Texas state legislature since 2018. The 36 year old former teacher is part of a group of Texas Democrats who fled that state last month to delay a Republican redistricting push and has been widely considered a rising star in Texas politics. Sources told CBS News that Democratic strategist Liz, Liz. Liz Smith is serving as an advisor to Talarico. Smith previously worked on the presidential campaigns for Pete Buttigieg and Barack Obama. Obama, A couple of who? I don't even know those two schmos.
Yeah.
Yeah. Next year's Texas Senate contest. It's already more crowded than most statewide races in recent Lone Star lore, as they're calling this. The seat, which has been in Republican hands since 1961.
Wow.
Yeah. Is currently held by Cornyn. As we know, he's that GOP senator, but he's facing a primary challenge from his right in Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton. So Paxton wants to be the senator. Now, Talarico will also need to face off against several other Democratic primary hopefuls, including Rep. Colin Allred, who is a big. People love him in Texas. He's a great guy who announced a bid for the seat in July. So I just, uh. I don't know. I think they hate Paxton enough that if they somehow want to get Paxton as the nominee, I think we have a shot. Yeah, go for it, please. And by the way, here's a little clip from Talarico for you so you can, uh, get to know him.
The Democratic Party has forgotten how to fight, but this critical moment in our country's history demands fighters, not folders. Imagine a Democratic Party that takes on big money and isn't captured by it. Imagine a Democratic Party that listens to the people, not DC Consultants. Imagine a Democratic Party that uses every tool in the toolbox and plays to the fullest extent of the rules. And imagine a Democratic Party that delivers for people on housing, health care, and education and actually defeats the right wing extremists who have taken over this country.
Yep. That kid's going places. We'll see how it goes. I'M rooting for, for all the Democrats. I love Colin Allred. I. I love, I love. I've been watching this, uh, this kid. I shouldn't call him a kid, this young man. Yeah, uh, he's 30.
Everybody under 40. If we got started early, we'd both be old enough to be his mother.
Uh, yeah, that's true. Uh, but I've, uh, been watching his floor speeches and some of the things he really like him. So we'll see how it goes. You know, want to root for whoever, whoever wins that primary for the statewide race. And I do hope they run against Paxton, because that would, that would be way easier for us. All right, everybody, the good trouble is going to be first up in the good news. But first, we're going to have a Flip It Blue segment with Amar Kampa Najar right after this quick break. Um, so as you know here in California, we're going to be having Prop 50 on the ballot this November to change our maps and redraw some of our districts which are going to make some of the closer democratically held districts even more Democratic. And then some of our red districts that lean Republican or are, you know, super red are going to make them lean Democratic. And in one of those, which is a district we've been trying to flip here in Southern California since forever, uh, we had a massive turnout in 2018 and we flipped so many districts in Southern California to democratically held seats. But the 48th has always eluded us. And right now Darrell Issa, the most the wealthiest member of Congress occupies that seat. He ran from a different district when he lost when we defeated him in a previous election and ran carpet bagged in a different, uh, totally different district. And we've been really just trying to get rid of this guy for a long time. And so now running in the primary to oust to get the seat to oust Darrell Issa is Amar Campanijjar and he joins me today. He wants to get the 48th seat in the California's 48th for the US Congress. And so he's running. Welcome, Amar. How are you?
Good, uh, to be with you. Um, you've been on this journey with me for the better part of a decade. So it's good to be back with you. And I think this might be the tipping point. After all those years of work and activism and resources, uh, I think this might be our year. So I'm very excited to be back into the fold.
Mhm. Yeah. This is the year we could do it. You came on the show for, uh, a Flip It Blue segment when you were running against Darrell Issa. Ah. In a previous election. And so now here we are again. And so I'm very happy to have you. I'm happy to endorse you in this, uh, in this particular election, I didn't.
Want to bury the lead. That's a big deal that you endorsed me. I was gonna say it at the top, but I wanted to defer to you. So thanks for saying that at the top.
You're welcome.
Means a lot.
I tend to do that. Right. Like, I'll have an author on, and like, 15 minutes into the thing, I'll be like, oh, and you're a New York Times bestseller. And they'. That's something from the top of the show, Allison. So let's talk a little bit about your platform, because it's a little different from when you were running in previous elections. So talk about. Let's. First of all, the big thing that is on everyone's mind in Southern California are these ICE raids. Right? We've seen them here, we've seen them in San Diego, and not just Los Angeles. So talk a little bit about that and what you plan to do if we're able to flip the house, practically. How do we stop this kind of thing from happening, and particularly in the 48th.
No, I appreciate that question. Look, uh, I don't think my positions have changed so much as the times we're living in. In 2018, we weren't talking about ICE, uh, raiding everyone's everything, right? Schools, hospitals, churches. There were some restraints. Now we're just living in this world where we're seeing major cities become militarized, and both of us having served in, uh, the military, me currently being an officer in the Navy, uh, this is not what we sign up for. So, you know, I think it's chaotic. And when you have everybody as far as AOC and Bernie Sanders all the way to, uh, you pick your favorite bro podcaster saying the same thing on ice, that there's no due process, and it's chaotic and it's against our values and our laws as a country. That's when you know that this administration has gone too far. So, um, you know, I am vehemently opposed to, you know, rounding up people with no due process, citizens and non citizens. Right. Americans are being deported to, uh, places they've never lived before. So it's just. It's draconian. It's unacceptable. And what we need to do is pass comprehensive immigration reform and not allow any politician to use this as a political football to fundraise and run on and just finally solve this problem once and for all. Give. Give people a pathway to earn citizenship. Give dreamers citizenship. They're American in every way except for on paper. And deal with our issues on the border, get more adjudication. A lot will get to this pipeline in a timely fashion so that it is possible to do it legally and they're not forced to have to wait 10 years, uh, or do it illegally. Right. And there's things we could do along the border with technology and stuff like that to make sure that drugs, fentanyl trafficking and guns aren't coming through the border, but we could do it humanely. And so that's been my position since the very start. Um, and I think, you know, right now, I think people realize that we do need to come together to pass this, and we can't keep running on it every two years.
Yeah, I agree. And there's so much going on behind the scenes that I think a lot of folks in our communities are unaware of with regard to the pathway to citizenship. Um, the fact that we're putting 600 JAGs, military lawyers, instead of administrative law judges, to act as immigration judges who work directly for Pam Bondi, the fact that they just overturned the rule that allows bail hearings for people who are being held, immigrants who are being held in detention, they can be held indefinitely now, just churning out more money for the private, you know, prison barons who want to keep those people and those bodies in these camps. And so it's so very important that we hire enough judges and we simplify the process and allow legal. But because this administration, they ran on illegal immigration being a problem, but they're going after legal immigration as well. And that is a problem, I think, here, uh, for our communities in Southern California. Talk a little bit about healthcare, because that is something else that is gonna be taken away from a lot of folks, particularly in the district you're running in, in 48, with regard to Medicaid, because. And we're not going to see those changes start happening until after the midterm. So how do you get that message out?
Yeah, it kind of tells you a lot about them, right when they're tucking in these policies rolling out after the midterms. That just tells you how unpopular they know this bill and this legislation is. And look, that's a big contrast between me and Darrell Issa. I know the district, the district knows me, Eisen knows the district, and the district knows him. The big difference is our vastly different policy prescriptions for this district. He's rubber stamped every single unpopular policy from Trump, from tariffs, the big beautiful pill that's going to affect, um, rural hospitals in my district, people who rely on Medi Cal. And we're going to just make sure that people understand that, that they are going to be at the mercy, uh, of a system that's on the verge of collapse. So many of us talked about trying to expand Medicare and here we are cutting it, right? Medi Cal, Medicare. So we gotta get the message out. I have a pretty comprehensive platform that I'm rolling out and one of them is to build on the, um, negotiating prescription drug costs for the handful of drugs that past administration got done. And I want us to do that for every single prescription that's out there that people need to lower the costs by negotiating it, allowing, ah, Medicare and other government entities to negotiate so we could bring down the costs. And you know, people are just outraged with the cost of health care. You know, there was a shooting earlier this year, killing of a CEO. That's how outraged people are. And also there was a lack of sympathy for the CEO. That's how maligned and malevolent people see the healthcare industry. And we're the richest country in the world with the highest cost of healthcare and we need to be able to rein in those excesses. So if I'm elected to Congress, I'll be pushing to get, uh, affordable, accessible healthcare. There's many plans out there. I have Tricare. It works plenty great. Most people in the military like it. It's government run, it works great. So there could be some kind of a hybrid model that gets us to full coverage for everybody, um, whether they get, you know, private, nonprofit or public health care. Of course, all of us, you know, who support universal healthcare have talked about Medicare for all. I'm one of them. And for me it's like, how do we get there? How do we get to full coverage and build on that momentum? Uh, maybe we start, you know, we're bringing down the ace to 55 and then 45, some kind of hybrid. So we'll figure out what the best way to get there. But we have to treat it with a sense of urgency. And then, you know, the other things that I'm running on is reducing the costs that we have here, not just in this county and state, but the country. Right. Um, made worse by the tariffs and the unpredictability and the chaos and then this big beautiful bill, you know, giving billionaires tax breaks on the backs of working class people who were not here to treat these working People like victims, they are, they are entitled, they've earned these benefits and they're being ripped away from their hands to benefit people who don't need a tax break, aren't asking for it and won't change their quality of life. They'll still be very rich and very well off. But this can change the quality of life of so many working people. So working on the costs, uh, you know, on, on paid family leave, on child care, things to give breathing space for working families. And then lastly, we got to take on corruption like, and we have to know that, like this corruption issue, it exists in both parties. I think one is a bigger abuser than the other currently. And that would be the Republicans, clearly, what's going on. But corruption predated Trump and it will succeed him if we don't deal with the underlying problem which you talked about with the prison system. It's the dark money. It's the big money in politics. And if we could take on big money and dark money, we could deal with the problem that causes all the others, the corruption. Right. And we need to be transparent on everything from insider trading to the Epstein files. We need people to believe that we're trustworthy. Again. It's like that waiter who comes up to you and he's like, hey, everything on this menu is great. You should try the most expensive thing. And you're like, okay, you're full of. But if they say, hey, the Halib is just okay, then being self critical makes you build trust. So we have to, as people who are seeking public office, be self critical to build back that trust. And that's a big part of, I think, getting people to trust government again and not be so willing to go with anyone who wants to crash and burn the system like the current president is clearly on a path to doing.
Yeah, agreed. Finally. Well, not finally. I have two more things. I'm with you. We need to, I think maybe expand Medi Cal or do something in California for a public option. Uh, because, you know, now we've, we're learning that they're using AI. They're going to start employing AI software to deny Medicaid claims, which is the same software UnitedHealthcare was using, that upset, you know, Luigi who ended up, uh, shooting the CEO. And then they also want to install that at the Department of Veterans affairs to deny claims for our disabilities. So we have to keep an eye on that. And I think that, um, we can really do some important work here in California, being the most populous state.
Right.
We have a lot of buying power. And we can speak pretty loudly with our, our wallets. But let's talk about affordability. California is, especially in some of our major cities and San Diego included, affordability of just the cost of living is very high. Uh, whether it's housing or groceries or you know, I mean the economy is on everywhere. The economy and the Epstein files are on everybody's mind right now. But let's, let's talk about affordability. What you can do to help make it more affordable to live in the 48th district.
Great question. I think one of the big things I've really cared about is like bringing jobs to the district. Ah. And nationally promoting apprenticeship jobs. Right. Earn while you learn while you, programs for like people who are just getting into the job market. You know, college isn't for everybody, the military isn't for everybody. You know, having done both and you know, but I work at the Department of Labor where we did these trade programs that could help not just uh, working families, but those people who can have more take home pay will then circulate it in the local economy, whether it's local retail or some kind of local business and not have it all, all of our wealth concentrated the 1% who don't spend it here and invest in things that don't have a trickle down. So that's one thing, right. The second thing is how do we create incentives, tax credits and benefits, um, to give, make sure people take home more of what they earn in the form of you know, paid, ah, family leave, childcare for, especially for veterans. It's a huge thing, right? Um, exactly, exactly. And you know, uh, build more housing by bringing more funding to the state. You know, California is a donor state. We give more than we get. Um, so how do we bring our funds back to our state to invest in more middle income and housing, uh, that people could afford. Um, and you know, one of the things we can do is there's a HUD formula that we go by to get money going. And the HUD formula is out of date with where we are as accounting. So me and a couple other members are going to work on making sure that we update that formula. And it's very wonky, but the point is get money back that we're owed and entitled to because it's ours, back to the state, back to the county and partner with local officials who you know, the governor's given a mandate on building more housing. But at the local levels there's been, you know, just some hesitation because there's a lot of different Competing interests between environmentalists and unions and how it's done. But we need someone who could be a coalition builder and get everyone to kind of come to the same page on, um, building. Be able to afford a home that you build if you're a construction worker. Right. It doesn't make sense to build a home you can't afford. So making sure people could earn a good living in this. In this district, in this county. And that's, uh, a big priority of mine, is bringing more job opportunities to the county, to the district, both counties, Riverside and San Diego County. Um, so that's going to be a big priority of mine and just, um, making sure that we're not, like, passing on the, you know, the tax breaks. We're giving billionaires to the middle class, because that's really what's happening right now with this big, beautiful building supposedly called, um. So that's. That's something we need to really think about. So we're working on it. I think a lot about it. I've talked to other members of Congress who've endorsed me. Mike Levin, Scott Peters, Ted Lieu, Eric Swalwell, you name it. And we're all trying to figure out on the federal level how to partner with local officials to make sure that people have the wages they need to live a decent life.
Thank you. Another thing I wanted to ask you about was, uh, what you'll do to support the LGBTQ community, particularly our trans friends.
Absolutely.
Who are seemingly being left behind by, you know, one party more than the other, but kind of both parties.
Yeah. Look, I think that the LGBTQ community are among the most bullied and ridiculed young people that we have in this country. And to have the federal government adding on to that is just unconscionable. And so, you know, when I ran for Congress, uh, the first time, Duncan Hunter was out there saying that we needed to ban, uh, members of the LGBTQ community from the military. And I stood very early and said that we can't do that. We're all volunteer military. We should not leave anybody off the field who wants to serve their country. And we need to field the full team. And diversity is our biggest strength as a nation. It allows us to pull from everyone's talents and skill sets. And so to bench somebody because of some weird political, ideological reason when we're supposed to be nonpartisan as a military is unacceptable to me. And when it comes to young people, if we're trying to protect young people, this is the claim that conservatives are saying, do you really think picking on. And bullying a young child who's in their formative years, who's trying to express who they are, uh, is the right way to protect children. Um, and I just reject. I vehemently reject this frame that the other side puts. You know, they. They make it sound like, you know, all kinds of stuff's going on. It's just not true. And I think some Democrats have taken the bait on this. So I. I fully support. You know, there's intrinsic value to every single human being. I thought that's what conservatives believed. Right?
Oh, no. Just before you're born.
Oh, okay. Got it. Okay.
Yeah.
But, you know.
Sorry.
I know. But on a serious note, we've seen the numbers, uh, with folks in the trans community. There's a deep need, uh, for mental health because they're just mistreated. The suicide rates are higher, the homicide rates are higher than the average. And we're talking about 1% of the population, this minority that needs us to help them because they're outnumbered. And that's what democracies are about, is helping those who are in the minority and the most vulnerable. So. So I think we as a nation can look out for both. We can have a broad tent and look out for these people who are the most vulnerable, and let's not use them as a stepping stool for some political gamesmanship. It's just. It's pitiful. We're better than that. Republicans should run on their agenda, not beating down vulnerable people. Uh, whether it's.
I think that is their agenda.
I know, but they should do better. And I want to have two parties that could spar on ideas, not beating down people. It's unfortunate and it's deeply. I know it's maybe Pollyannish, but. But I reject that. And I, um, think that we're bigger and better than that, and we shouldn't be scapegoating and stigmatizing people to score political points. So I'll stand with anybody in the LGBTQ community, and, uh, we're not going to paint a broad brush if there's some people who, um, are doing things that no community would support. But let's not pretend m like the. The mainstream issue, where, you know, what the Republicans are framing and what they're. I won't even repeat what they're claiming about the trans community because it doesn't deserve to be dignified. But that doesn't account for even a fraction of what the LGBTQ community stands for and how they live their lives. They're. Some of them are the best parents you know, that I've ever met, um, because they care so deeply and they don't take it for granted. And so I vehemently reject it. And I'll stand behind anybody in that, in the LGBTQ community in the face of, of that bigotry and that stigma.
Um, yeah, for real. Thank you for that. And, um, yeah, I guess that runs me out of questions, my friend. I ran the gamut here. We've got it. We've got you on overturning Citizens United, getting dark money out of politics, taking steps toward Medicare for all, getting affordable healthcare for everyone, talking about, uh, apprenticeships and jobs and things like that. Trades and strong unions, talking about affordable housing and supporting and backing and being there for the LGBTQ community, especially our trans friends. I really appreciate you going on the record on all that and, um, sharing your platform with us. Now, can you tell everybody where they can find, follow you and support you to beat Darrell Issa? I'm sorry, it was Duncan Hunter, not Darrell Issa, in the other that you were running against, um, the last time I had you on, wasn't it?
Uh, I don't know, because in 2018 it was Duncan. In 2020 it was Darrell ISS. Yeah, I think it might have been both.
They all look the same to me. Well, yeah, yeah, super rich, like carpet bagger jerks who don't give a shit about their constituents. And so I'm very glad you're running. So let everybody know how they can find support and help your campaign.
Yeah. Um, right now we're coming across a critical deadline for September 30th. Trying to raise money, small dollar donors. Our average donation has been $17. So if you could pitch in, go to Amar for Congress F O R congress.com you can find me on Twitter, on Facebook with the same name, or X as they call it.
Blue Sky.
Yeah, I use Blue sky as well. You can follow me there. I'm, um, trying to just. I haven't done, uh, TikTok yet, but we'll do it. And look, a lot of folks, there's going to be a lot of mis and disinformation. It's political season. I'm going to get attacked. But what I tell people is, look like, you know, I'm more disciplined. I've learned a lot. I'm in the military, I'm teaching at Georgetown. You're going to get the best version of me. And, you know, together we've worked on. It's almost been the better part of a decade on this project. And so, so we have the momentum. We got 166,000 votes in this district. Nobody else has gotten one vote in this district yet. And we shouldn't start from scratch. I think we need to build on the momentum, finish strong by starting strong here. And, uh, not to be corny, uh, but to use a military phrase, let's complete the mission and get this job done. Get Darrell Issa out of the sea.
Appreciate you, my friend. Thank you so much. It's been great to see you at the empty chair town halls for Darrell Issa. Thanks for coming. Thanks for being there and supporting us and the community and the people of the 48th district in California. It is time to flip it blue. So I appreciate your time today. Amar Khapanajar, by the way, that's a M M A R. And you can, uh, find him all over social media and, um, help give a small dollar donation. Maybe give 48 bucks for the 48th district.
I like that. Yeah.
Um, we appreciate you and, uh, thank you for joining us today.
Thank you.
All right, everybody, stick around. We'll be right back with the good news. Everybody, welcome back. It's time for the good news, everyone.
Then, good news, everyone.
And if you have any good news or good trouble suggestions or you want to give a shout out to yourself or a loved one or a small business in your area or a great nonprofit doing important work, maybe, uh, you want to shout out a government program that's helped you or a loved one, uh, maybe you want to share some great hobbies that you're doing right now, what you're making and what you're creating. We would love to hear about that. Any little good thing or big thing that's happened to you that's amazing in the last 10 minutes or the last 15 years, we want to hear about it. And all you got to do to get your submission read on the air is pay your POD pet tariff, which means attach a photo of your pet. We can try to guess the breeds in your shelter pup, but we're not very good at it. But it's still fun to try. If have a pet, send an adoptable pet in your area. We'll see if we can find him a home. If you don't have that, really, just grab any random photo of an animal off the Internet. We especially love baby animals. We love capybaras and otters and frogs and secretary birds. And speaking of birds, if you want to send a bird watching photo, that counts too, which can also be you and your family and friends flipping the bird to Trump and Musk Properties. Send it all to us dailybeanspod.com and click on contact. All right, first up is our good trouble. This comes from Eve pronoun she her Hello Beans Queens I was recently made aware of ICE recruitment ads on Shell charging stations in our generally liberal city of Santa Cruz, California. I'm sure they have them on all Shell charging stations. If they have them here, they are not shy about where they advertise for ICE recruitment. Needless to say, there's good trouble to be had. So how about we bombard Shell corporation headquarters with our feelings and opinions about these despicable ads? The Laguminati rides again. The mailing address is 910 Louisiana Street, Houston, Texas 77 002. The phone number is 713-241-6161. There's a feedback form at a web address. We'll have a link in the show notes for you. There's a chat option too, but that's probably going to be some poor, underpaid customer service person who will probably not pass on the message. I'm including a photo from a few years ago. I just lost the older Kitty Finch three weeks ago. Oh, my heart goes out to you. This is a, uh, Finch and baby Peanut, who is now three years old, watching wildlife videos together. I thought it might give you a smile. So here are they on the charging stations for EVs. They have ICE recruitment posters.
That's so gross. The second one. $50,000 signing bonus.
Uh, that's like somebody's Medicaid.
Yeah, disgusting.
Oh, the kitties are adorable.
Those are thanks for that palate cleanser at the end. Kristi Gnome's face.
Yes, thank all right.
This is from M. Judy from Kansas pronoun she and her hello Beans Queens. I'm a longtime listener and a recent Patreon subscriber. I've been doing my bit to help save democracy, but recently started to burn out. I am trying to do better to pace myself. I now write to my members of Congress once a day, then I let it go. If I think of something else, I save it for the next day. This has really helped my nervous system. I do miss a day occasionally, but right now I'm on a 65 day streak. I'm hoping to get back to calling them daily too, but I've had to cut back to once a week for my mental health. I donate to candidates who are fighting and attending the no Kings protest and I'm planning on attending no Kings 2. I'm a subscriber to Democracy Docket and added the Atlantic after their signal chat reporting. I've been wanting to add one more subscription and decided on the Daily Beans because it's the podcast I listen to consistently. I really appreciate the mix of empathy, swearing, investigative reporting, good trouble, and the good news at the end. One thing I hadn't anticipated was how much I'd enjoy the photos the listeners. Share Share. It's my favorite part. Now for my pod pet tacks, I'm sharing my favorite photos of our cat Gingy. She crossed the rainbow bridge a few years ago, but I think of her often.
She is supes cute upside down looking right over the edge of the table. Oh my God. That's great. That's so great. That's so nice. Thank you Judy from Kansas. We appreciate you. Welcome to the Leguminati. Next up from Anonymous, no pronouns. I want to give a shout out to Conejo Community Outreach, 100% volunteer run 501c3 nonprofit which operates a community community diaper bank that supports families in Ventura county with free monthly supplemental packages of diapers and wipes. You can check them out@conejocommunity outreach. That's c o n e j o communityoutreach.com we'll have a link in the show notes. Thanks for that shout out to that amazing nonprofit. For my poppet tariff, I'm including my kitties link on the left and Loki on the right. Link is the mellow hunk and Loki is the mischievous imp. M that is is a, uh, chunky boy. Look how tiny his head is compared to his body. Maybe it's the angle.
It's the angle of the camera, Allison.
Could be forced perspective. Could be forced perspective, but that is just fantastic. Thank you for sharing your orange boys with us. Yeah.
All right. This is from Tony Pronoun C and him Dear Dana, Allison and all the ships at sea. It's been a minute since my submission about Ellie the Dachshund, uh, joining her ancestors in May. Since then, I've taken the big flags to quite a few places. No Kings, John Lewis, Good Trouble and 505015051 rallies in Cleveland, Canton, Columbus, Canton and Akron Pride celebrations, the Carnation Festival Grand Parade and a few little rallies in my hometown. Alliance. That's where I live. Each one is a bit like old home week, as I always run into someone I have seen before. As we were lining up for the Pride Walk in Akron, I saw a couple I first met at the Resistance Rangers rally in Cuyahoga. I know that we've posted on That I did.
Yep.
On Cuyahoga Valley national park at cvnp they asked if I was in D. Tony from the Daily Beans. I was in Akron. They said hi again and told me that they thought my wife was pretty awesome. They had heard my shout out to her on her birthday. At every rally I've been to, the support of honks and waves from vastly outnumber the negative expressions in Alliance. The stalwart group has been gathering every Saturday at noon at the Veterans Memorial at State street. In the 20 weeks they have been going, the group has grown to around 45 regulars. I've been with them for three weeks now, and for today I finally had time to make some more flag poles so I could hoist my entire collection. I brought Mexican, Canadian, Palestinian, Ukrainian and American national flags, three pride flags, a Black Lives Matter flag, and my usual six six by ten American and pride flags. We lashed all the flagpoles to the fence posts and I held the big ones by the side of the road. We got so much happy honking that I have cause for hope. We even got honks from at least a half a dozen semi trucks. At one point, a raggedy man in a raggedy minivan stopped in the road to shout semi coherent nonsense at us. A semi pulled up and close behind him and gave him a a big blast and he bored off. The trucker gave my American flag a crisp salute and drove off. I'll be doing the local protests until October 18th when I go to Cleveland, Columbus and even D.C. for the next big nationwide 5051 no Kings rally. Sharing picks from today's rally in Alliance.
Look at these flags. Look at Tony's flags.
Unbelievable. They're so good.
That's amazing. You got Mexico, you got Palestine, Ukraine, everything. Just fantastic. And then of course, the giant 6x10American flag and pride flag. Yeah, and look at that sign. No crown for a clown. That's great.
Love it.
Tony, Great to hear from you my friend. Keep it up. Next up. Yeah, I'll be at no Kings too as well. That's October 18th right? Everywhere.
Yeah.
Next up from Anonymous. I have two things for good news today. Number one, on a trip this summer to Grand Teton National Park, I want to give a big huge hug to every park service worker they care for the very best natural resources the country has to offer. The ability to see and experience Mother Nature in our parks is something to cherish. And number two, I'm a public school teacher in a wow county of Wisconsin. The good news is for the voters of Wisconsin electing Janet Protosiewicz and Susan Crawford to the State Supreme Court. Now they have a chance to replace Rebecca Bradley. This allows a chance to repeal Scott Walker's Act 10 that all but eliminated collective bargaining for public sector unions. Man, it's so interesting. Anonymous I was recently re watching the newsroom and they were showing as the uprising in Egypt and Cairo was happening alongside that they were showing when Scott Walker was in the State House or the State Capitol and the teachers union started to form a massive protest outside. It's incredible how these things are still prevalent in our politics. Anyway, fun fact. Every year teachers in Wisconsin school district have to vote on whether the local union can negotiate a contract for teachers. If someone doesn't vote, it counts as a no. What? Imagine if all elections were held to that standard. I was thinking too. Anonymous what if the Congress was held to that standard?
If you don't vote, it's a no.
My pod Pet tariff is a picture of Oxbow Bend showing the awesome beauty of Grand Teton and the picture of a moose we saw while hiking back from the Cascade Canyon. An inspiration point. Amazing. What a beautiful national park. And thanks, Anonymous for that. That's incredible.
Yes, thank you indeed. This one's from Steven. No, um, pronouns given. Hi beans. This is a confession of sadness and an expression of gratitude. I just want to say thank you for what you do. My wife hooked me up with this podcast years ago. I listened to it to try and squeeze some tiny semblance of hope in these ludicrous times. I often think about the true measures of any society can be found in how it treats its most vulnerable members. As a physician who has spent his entire professional life taking care of neurologically devastated children, I am so despondent at where we are as a country and a world. So many attacks on vulnerable members of our planet seem to be celebrated by people now rather than generating feelings of enormous sadness and shame. All that being said, I appreciate your podcast, your good Trouble sections, your unwavering support of actual ideas of how we should treat each other on this planet. As her pod Pet Tax, I submit pictures of our two dogs who in the last years, the last few years, crossed the rainbow bridge, both at age 15. I miss them every day. Both are, uh, rescues. The dark brown was Chloe and the almost golden retriever was Bentley. I love that name. Third picture is our new Rescue Misty, of the feline persuasion, who generously allows us to continue living and serving as her loyal subjects. I hope this email finds you well. I hope you keep us going with lots and lots of swearing, because it is one of the only parts of the news that offers me even the briefest levity. And for that, you have my utmost gratitude.
Oh, uh, Stephen, that's such a sweet. Truly a sweet, sweet submission.
Yes, indeed.
Look at these beautiful babies. And there's the kidney. Is that belly a trap? Can I pet that belly? Steven? You'll have to let us know. All right, our final submission is from Hannah Rose, pronoun she and her hello, Daily beans. Loves your daily beans. News is the first thing I listen to every morning, not just for the wonderful summary of the news. Let's be clear. The news isn't really wonderful, but your summary is. But I also love hearing all the good news and good trouble. So here's my good news. Uh, and it's a shout out to a nonprofit healthcare system that has helped me and whom I am working with to help even more people. Our health care system is so hard to navigate, as we all know. It's especially so for transgender individuals like myself. Finding out what one can do, figuring out what one needs to do, determining how to, where to, and how much. It feels overwhelming when having to navigate all of this on your own. If not for the caring and extra time, uh, listening From Primary Care Dr. Virginia Mason in the Seattle area, I would be but another unfortunate statistic. Through compassion, hard work, and a little luck, I have had success in my life. And I'm one of the few transgender women who made it to an older age. A unicorn, if you will. My journey has been a struggle, but I have the fortune of being able to work for the Virginia Mason Franciscan foundation. And we'll have a link in the show notes to this foundation to make it better for transgender and gender non conforming patients behind me. After several years of sharing my medical and life experiences with this foundation and giving my own support, this organization now accepts donations specifically for transgender health care. The money goes directly to training for primary care doctors across the Virginia Mesa network in the Pacific Northwest. I would love every primary care doctor to have the resources they need to help others just like me. Just like the one doctor who made such a difference in my life. And I'm proud that I've been able to help make this a reality. I hope everyone listening can find some small way to help their community out, even if it's just spreading joy with your neighbors. I am now happily retired, an amateur artist and musician. Attached is a painting I made of a good friend's kitty named Tulip, who just loves cuddles. Whenever I visit Hannah Rose what an amazing submission. Beautiful, beautiful painting. Look at that. Yep.
Gorgeous.
Oh, uh, that's so great. I wish I could paint. I'm just. I am not, uh, at all able to do anything like that.
I'm a drawer and I paint abstract, but I can't. Yeah, it's pretty amazing.
This is really great. And thank you for letting us know about the Virginia Mason Franciscan foundation helping, and you can specifically donate your money to help transgender healthcare. Love it. So, so great. Thank you so much and thanks to everybody for your incredible submissions today. Please send us. Flood us with your good news. Flood the zone instead of with shit. Flood it with awesomeness. And send us all your Good news news. Dailybeanspod.com, click on Contact. And if you have good trouble ideas, we would love to hear them as well. That is the news for Monday, and thanks to Amar Kampa Najar for joining us for the Flip It Blue segment. My friend, do you have any final thoughts today?
